The Investigation

Based on Who Did It to Trina. This is a what-if if Lane called Detectives to solve the case. 

After getting nowhere with the group, minus Beck, who was in Canada, Lane wanted to check to see if it was an accident or if someone cut Trina's gimble. So Lane made a call to Mr. Vega to see if he could send some of his fellow detectives to investigate. Jade objected to it because she thought whoever the detectives were sent to investigate the case would take it easy on Tori because they knew her dad. Lane ignored her and called the cops anyway. 

While Mr. Vega did come to the school, he was only an observer and a concerned parent with his older daughter hurt while his partner Gary along with two other detectives investigated what happened and he was there briefly until he decided to take Trina to the Hospital as a precaution. First, they looked at the gimble in question. They were deciding if that broken on purpose or just as worn out. After some looks, it was decided that it was no accident.   

Detective Graham said to Lane with the Gimble saying, "You see that (pointing to the gimble), there's a few cut notches on here so it wasn't an accident. It was done on purpose, do you have any possible suspects," 

Lane said, "I was talking to Tori the sister, Jade, Andre, Cat, and Robbie though Andre sneaked out to go on a date," Graham said, "Let's talk with the rest of them and possible witnesses and try to get this thing solved as quick as possible. Are there faculty members that can help question the possible suspects and witnesses? The sooner we question people the better," Lane said, "Sikowitz and Security Guard Derrick are available,"  Graham said, "Good let's start the interviews," 

After hours of interviewing witnesses and potential suspects in Lane's office, Blackbox theater and the Principal's office, they cleared Tori and Jade since witnesses didn't see Tori and Jade backstage however, the suspect list shrunked down to Robbie, Andre, and Cat. Gary asked Tori to text Andre that he needed to be there or he would have to send a patrol unit to home. Andre did come back to the school, answer the questions, and he was eventually cleared because no one saw him go backstage and went back home.

Detective Vega went to pick his younger daughter up and give updates on Trina. Gary said, "How's Trina?" Detective Vega said, "She's bruised and sore but she's OK, she's at home with Holly," What's the status with Tori? Is it OK I take her home?" Gary said, "She is and let's be honest. If Tori wanted to get back for Trina for taking her doll and blackmailing her to put her in Tori's play Tori would have gotten Trina back at home. From what I'm hearing she would not have risked a grade just to get back in Trina. Mr. Vega said, "If only Lane believe in my younger daugther," 

Lane heard that and said, "Hey I was going by what Trina said and she did name Tori as a possible suspect so if you have a problem with that take it up with Trina," Mr. Vega said, "How about the time you automatically gave Tori two week detention for believing Jade? Also, that could been consider an accident?" Lane said, "OK, I admit that was a mistake. I did shave a week from her and I only kept the week of detention for her because she skipped out of a cleaning punishment with Jade and yes, I did give Jade detention after that," Vega said, "How long?" 

Lane said, "Three weeks," Mr. Vega said, "Should have been a month," Gary said, "Hey Tori," Tori said, "Yes, Gary," Gary said, "Can you take your dad home before you and Trina have to go to a new school," Tori said, "OK, Come on Dad," they were about to leave before Graham said, "Actually Lieutenant, I have one more question. Does Trina want to press charges on who did this?" Mr. Vega said, "She's thinking about it though I think she'll be OK if whoever did this got expelled and I'm OK with that as well. If it's Robbie, I would consider a restraining order. I busted in the bushes if our backyard repeatedly," 

Graham said, "OK we're checking to see who did it," Mr. Vega said, "Thanks, Let's go Tori," Tori and her dad left the school.    

Detective Davis said, "Are we really going to interview the kid with the puppet again?" Graham said, "Yes, he is a likely suspect," Davis said, "What's his idea?" Lane said, "Robbie is a ventriloquist and his doll's name is Rex," Graham said, "Don't worry we'll talk to this girl Cat first then we will talk with the puppet master," Davis said, "Sounds like a plan," 

Both Davis and Graham both interviewed Cat in Lane's office and started asking her questions. Graham said, "Based on witnesses, it's between you and Robbie who could have cut Trina's gimble. So did you cut Trina's gimble?" Cat said, "No, they don't trust me with the equipment," Davis said, "The school?" Cat said, "Yeah," Graham said, "What about Robbie did he cut Trina's gimble?" Cat was silent for a bit and Graham said, "Cat, I suggested you tell the truth, whoever did this is getting expelled at best at worst could add jail time and being an accessory which also could led by to being arrested, did Robbie do this?" Cat said, "I don't know for sure but he did handle the equipment that Trina used," The detective had their suspect.

When they went to have a second interview for Robbie, Rex flat-out said, "Robbie did it," Robbie said, "REX!!" Rex said, "Every man for himself, Rob," Robbie knowing that he was screwed said, "Am I going to jail?" There was a knock the door and the person said, "It's Vega," Graham said, "Come on in," Mr. Vega and Graham said, "It looks we got our guy, Lieutenant," Robbie asked Mr. Vega said, "Am I going to Jail, Mr. Vega?" Mr. Vega said, "It seems like Trina doesn't want to press charges however, you will be expelled from Hollywood Arts and I considered a restraining order which is still on the table, I don't want you at the house ever again," 

Robbie said, "What happens if Tori invites me to your house?" Mr. Vega said, "Looks like we're going to have a family discussion but if you do get an invite, check with me or Mrs. Vega first, got it?" Robbie said, "Got it," Lane came into his office and said, "Robbie, you need to clear out locker out now," 

Robbie clear out his locker and was escorted out of the school by the detectives. Robbie Sharipo was no longer a student in Hollywood Arts. 

The next school day, the group hung out a blank locker that used to be Robbie's and Rex's. Andre said, "So it's official, he's gone," Beck said, "I'm afraid so," Cat said, "How's Trina doing?" Tori said, "She's getting better, still a little sore. She decided to take the day off," Jade said, "I can't believe Robbie would do that," Beck said, "Guessing he was pushed one too many times," Andre said, "Should we still be friends with him?" Cat said, "I still want to," Beck said, "I'm mixed, I know people don't like Trina but still he went too far," 

The Bell rang, Tori said, "Let's go to class and talk about later during lunch," They agreed and went to class.
