As Julianna entered the bustling hallways of Hawkins High, she felt a familiar rush of anxiety mixed with a sense of longing. Students were milling about, their laughter and chatter echoing off the walls, but to Julianna, it all felt distant, almost muffled. She had always been more of an observer, but lately, it was as if she was behind a glass wall, separated from the joy that radiated from her classmates. Her mind was a storm of thoughts, swirling with memories of her experiences in the lab, the strange happenings in Hawkins, and the friendships that felt like they were slipping away.

Just as she turned the corner by the lockers, she spotted Max jogging towards her, her ponytail swinging energetically behind her. Max's face lit up with excitement, her eyes sparkling as if she had just stumbled upon the best-kept secret.

"Jules! You gotta hear this crazy shit!" Max exclaimed, nearly out of breath from the effort of running.

"What is it?" Julianna asked, curiosity igniting despite the heaviness in her heart. She loved how Max could always draw her out of her shell, even if just for a moment.

"Apparently, the reason everyone calls Will 'Zombie Boy' is because he got lost in the woods last year for a week!" Max said, her voice filled with animated disbelief.

Julianna felt her heart skip a beat at the mention of Will. Memories flooded her mind-the look of terror in his eyes when he returned, the way he seemed haunted by something unseen. She stared blankly at Max, trying to process her friend's words.

"Come on, don't you think that's a bit weird?" Max continued, completely unaware of Julianna's internal struggle. "No one could find him in the woods? And then, some random body that looked like Will just showed up in the quarry! It's like something straight out of a horror movie."

Julianna's stomach twisted painfully. She remembered the lab-the fear, the creatures, the moment Eleven had accidentally opened the gate to the Upside Down. Will hadn't just been lost; he had been trapped in a nightmare beyond anyone's comprehension. The truth felt heavy on her tongue, but she couldn't share it. Not yet.

"Um... I think it's weird too," Julianna finally managed to say, her voice barely above a whisper, as if the admission might draw unwanted attention to her. She could feel her palms begin to sweat as the weight of her silence pressed down on her.

Max's eyes widened, a spark of excitement in her gaze. "Right? Like, how does someone just disappear for a week and then pop back up? Everyone's acting like it's no big deal, but I'd be freaked out if it were me."

"Yeah..." Julianna replied, her thoughts racing. She wanted to scream that it wasn't a big deal-it was a disaster, a life-altering experience that had changed them all forever. But instead, she forced a small smile, hoping to keep up the facade of normalcy.
