1:24am
Taylor suddenly jolts awake, breathing heavily and shaking. She rubs her eyes and realizes where she is, so she calms down.
It was just a nightmare, but it was scary.Maybe she shouldn't have played that game before bed.
She starts seeing things, so she wakes you up. "Y/n.." She whispers softly, trying to get you to wake up. You soon slowly open your eyes, trying to process what's happening. "What..? What time is it..?" You ask groggily. "Like 1am, but wait- I.." She trails off, fidgeting with her hands. "I had a really scary nightmare... please hold me..." She whispers, hoping you won't be mad.You want to be, but you can't seem to get mad at that sweet face, so you pull her into a hug and hold her tight, rubbing her back. "There there, baby. It's okay now. I'm here. " You whisper right into her ear, stroking her hair. She shivers a bit. "You want some water?" You ask, kissing her forehead. She just nods, and you retrieve a water bottle from your nightstand. She takes it and sips slowly. After a bit of cuddling, it's almost 5 am now. You're asleep, but she's still awake. "Need to... need to go to the bathroom.." She whispers to herself, wriggling out of your grasp and heading to the bathroom. She comes out after a few minutes, and she does not look so good.
She wakes you up again, shaking you a little more roughly this time. "I'm sick.." She mumbles, nuzzling into your chest. You yawn, stirring awake. "Sick..?" You question, getting a small thermometer from your bedside table drawer. "Lift your arm for me." You gently command, and she lifts it up. You place the thermometer under her arm and tell her to hold it there. A few minutes later, it beeps, so you check it.
"You have a slight fever, baby." You tenderly kiss her head. "You're gonna be okay." You reassure, holding her hand. "How about you go back to sleep? I'll monitor your temperature while you're sleeping and see if I have to give you medicine or not." You suggest, and she nods sleepily. "Night.." She mumbles, even though it's technically morning now.
"Goodnight, baby. Sleep well. I'll be right here when you wake up, taking care of you while you're sleeping."
A few hours later, it's about 8 am now, and taylor stirs awake. You've checked her temperature a couple of times when she was sleeping, and it was going up, so you gave her a suppository for fever in her sleep. She didn't even notice at all.She rubs her eyes, yawning. "Y/n.." She spots you sitting there in the balcony of your bedroom, walking over to you. It's slightly cold outside, and her body's very warm, so she starts shivering immediately. "Go back inside, baby. I'm coming." She nods and heads back inside, slipping under the covers again in search of warmth. You get into bed with her, holding her close.
"How are you feeling?" You ask, letting her nuzzle into your chest. "Not so good, but better..." She mumbles, her hands curling in your shirt. You check her temperature again, and it's slightly lower than before, but it's still high. "I think I need to give you another fever suppository." You gently caress her hair. "No, please, you know I hate those. And what do you mean by 'another'?" She asks, withdrawing from you a little. "Oh, uh, I gave you one in your sleep. You didn't notice." You confess. "You did what?" She tries to sound mad, but her voice is barely there. "I'll just get you some pills, then." You say, knowing she can't swallow pills - that's why you stick to suppositories.
She groans in annoyance. "Can't you find a syrup for fever or something?" She whines. "Syrups are for kids. You're an adult." You try to convince her to let you give her another suppository, but she doesn't budge. That doesn't mean you're giving up, though. "Please, no..." She whimpers pitifully as you unwrap one and sterilize your hands. "Come here. I don't have to drag you and hold you down just because of a small suppository." She whimpers a bit when you say that, still very hesitant. "Please.. just go find a syrup for adults. For me..?" She asks again, hopefully.
"Fine, but if I don't find any, I'm giving you the suppository." You put it away and get up, wearing some shoes to head to the pharmacy. "Thank you.. I love you.." She buries her face in your chest, sniffling. Her nose is runny, too. You come back after a while with something in your hand from the pharmacy. Taylor thinks it's syrup, so she perks up and runs to you. "Did you find syrup for me??" She asks hopefully. "No, baby. I told you there is not any fever syrup for adults. I did find a shot and an iv drip, though." Taylor's face falls. Those options were even worse.
"N-no, none of those.." She shakes her head quickly, stepping back slightly. "Taylor, you have to take SOMETHING." You try to hold her hand, but she pulls away. "You know what? I'll just crush up a pill for you and mix it with water. Won't be that effective, so we'll take two." When you say that, her shoulders sag in relief. You bring the mixture of water and crush up medicine to her, and she grimaces at the smell. "Is it gonna taste bad..?" She asks, crinkling her nose.
"Oh my god, Taylor. If you nag about one more thing about medicine.." She nods quickly, taking the small cup from you. "Okay, okay, sorry. I guess a bad tasting liquid is better than having a needle poking you." She tries to reassure herself and drinks the liquid quickly, immediately gagging at the taste. "Here's some water, baby." You hand her a cup of water, and she gulps it down to wash away the taste of the medicine.
"Good, at least you took some medicine." You hold her close, rubbing her back. "I'm proud of you, okay?" You say softly, kissing her forehead. She smiles a bit, burrowing deeper into your shoulder. She leans in for a kiss, but you pull away. She looks a bit confused and hurt. "Sorry, baby, if I kiss you on the mouth, I'll get sick too." You frown a bit.
"Oh.. you're right. It's okay.." She nuzzles into you, hands fisted in your shirt. "Just.. just keep holding me.. I need you right now." She whispers, and you hold her tighter. You snuggle under a fluffy blanket, and she soon falls asleep. The next day, you wake up before her. You kiss her head, then check her temperature again. It's back to normal. You smile and caress her cheek, letting her get the rest she needs, and you get up to make her a breakfast that will both fill her up and give her some energy.
