Melody and her family had returned to Tennessee and she was already missing being busy.
She sat outside on a pool couch, watching the stars twinkle above her as she heard the back door open.
"Hey." Ben said, lying down next to her, pulling out a joint and lighting it.
"Where's you get this?"
"RA."
Melody raised her eyebrow.
"The one with the turtle tattoo."
She nodded and took it from his fingers.
"Can you believe she'll be gone ten years in a couple days? Like I know I was only nine when she died by like, a whole decade is crazy."
"Yeah I guess you were young. Time goes by so quickly."
Ben exhaled with a laugh, "you're two years away from thirty."
"Don't make me smack you, child."
Her phone pinged and she grabbed it, seeing a text from an unknown number.

Hey, it's Joe.
