TO SAY PERCY WAS CONFUSED WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT.

He had no idea what to do.

Rio Ladrón was officially his friend. He'd gotten over his stupid, ridiculous, self hatred for children of thieves and made friends with the boy.

And he wasn't mad about it at all. In fact, he quite enjoyed Rio's company. A little too much.

His smile was like a beam of white light, and the most infectious thing he'd ever seen.

Every time he laughed, Percy embraced the sound like the sun waking from the ground in a warm autumn sunrise.

And now, he ached to hear that laugh again.

It was getting to the point where it was all he could think about. It rung in his ears, consuming his every thought.

His lips. Gods, his lips. Percy wouldn't think to describe anyone's lips as pretty. It just didn't fit with anyone else. But Jesus fuck, Rio's lips were pretty. Brown and soft. At least, Percy thought they looked soft. Oh, how he yearned to feel for himself.

He imagined Rio's brown lips brushing against his pink ones. Hands tugging at his hair and wrapping around his neck. And the short gasps of each other's breaths.

No, he shouldn't be thinking about those sort of things. You're not suppose to think about your friend like that.

He need to stop. It needed to stop. He didn't know what had gotten into him. He hasn't felt this way towards anyone since Lu-, Annabeth.

Since he'd had a crush on Annabeth.

Was that what this was? A crush? Percy didn't know. All he knew was that he loved everything about the boy, and it wouldn't exit his mind.

These thoughts would soon consume him, until he had no choice but to let them out.

He was afraid he'd do something he might regret.

But he couldn't just do nothing.

FINALLY DONE WITH HIS CHORES, Percy made his way to the deck of the Argo II. And he  didn't seem to be the only one to seek out some fresh air.

Rio stood leaning against the railing, basking in the sunset. He looked absolutely gorgeous just then.

But then again, when did he not.

"Hey," Percy approached, leaning against the railing beside Rio.

Rio beamed, "Howdy."

There it was again, that stupid smile.
