Charles and I sat on one of the docks, my head rested on his shoulder. He had been quiet the last few days and I could tell something was bothering him. He was the first person to look past my defect and trauma. We had only met in Senior year, two years ago but he and I were inseparable. "Lia," Charles murmured, his hand subconsciously playing with my hair. I hummed quietly, telling him that I was listening. "I got a contract with Sauber," He says quietly, "I leave for Barcelona in a week,"
I sat up, trying to disguise the hurt in my eyes. He was the only person I felt emotions with. I still couldn't tell if I loved it or hated it. "That's great," I lied through my teeth.
"Ma Bichette," Charles sighs, being able to see right through my act, "I promise I'll come back for you," He pulled me into a hug, nuzzling into my neck making me giggle.
He pulled back, looking at me with his signature goofy grin. "I will never leave you,"
"Never ever,""Best friends,"
"Forever and Ever,"
"I love you,"
"Always and Forever,"
Well it turned out on that day, he lied to me.
