A WEEK AFTER the Belgian Grand Prix, there is a knock at the door.
Valerie doesn't hear it at first because she's in the shower and humming a new song she's been thinking of for a while. When she's done, she turns off the shower and finally hears knocking at the front door.
Furrowing her eyebrows, she quickly gets out of the shower and curses when she realizes she left her clothes in her room. The knocking persists followed by two rings of the doorbell. Sighing, she wraps a towel around her body and jogs over to the door.
It's possible it's Lili or Enzo coming back to the house because they forgot something. But they left with Camila and Carlos nearly an hour ago to go on a double date to kick off the start of summer break for the season. They had invited her, but fifth wheeling is the last thing Valerie is interested in right now. With her parents gone yet again for another trip together (seriously, you would think thirty years of marriage would be enough to get out of the honeymoon phase but apparently not), Valerie had been all ready to curl up on the couch and binge watch Disney movies and eat ice cream until she fell asleep.
The doorbell rings again and Valerie rolls her eyes as she opens the door. Her eyes widen when they land on a familiar figure leaning against the doorframe.
