It was already 10:30 when we stepped outside. Everything was covered in a silver hue of the moon that was still trying to reach the middle of the sky, glowing more and more as it reached the dark sky. Everything somehow seemed calm. I couldn't describe it any differently. Everything had almost slowed down as we drove up the street, past the houses, trees and the seldom of the quiet town, piercing the calm air with the roaring of his car. I took a deep breath and shifted my eyes away from the windows. He was driving effortlessly, leaned back with his knees apart, only one hand on the steering wheel. I wondered how he managed to look so at ease while driving. I could see the glimmer of street lights reflecting in his eyes as they mixed with the fiery sparks he happened to wear everywhere he went. I must've looked at him for a bit too long as he pointed exactly that, not even two seconds later.

- You're staring. - He remarked, not even glancing in my direction.

- I'm not. - I almost whispered the words. - You're going fast.

- This is not fast. - He said, still looking ahead. – This... Is fast. - He added and without a second doubt he pushed onto the pedal even harder.

- Rafe. - I said, this time more sternly.

- What? You don't like it? – He asked with a grin this time before accelerating again.

- I do, but still... - I smiled back before shifting my gaze towards the road. – Too fast, Rafe.

- Fine. - He groaned lightly before slowing down.

I looked over to him, still trying to clear my head from the occupying thoughts that were desperately trying to drape the haze over my mind. I couldn't help but feel mesmerized by the sight in front of me. He looked endearing in that moment. All I could really think about at that time was how his skin felt against mine. How he made me feel when he took control over my... everything. The control he had over me, how I would crumble in a second if he asked me to. I have never felt anything this strong, this powerful before. He must've known the influence he had over me, right? My mind was still going hundred miles an hour as we approached the big house.

- We're here. - He said as we parked. I could hear the music, the buzzing of chatter even before opening the door.

- Yeah. - I tried to shake away the feelings that were still circling my mind to no avail before taking a deep breath. – I'm nervous. - I thought out loud accidentally.

- You're nervous? – He chuckled at my comment. I felt his gaze pin on me before I mustered enough courage to look up myself.

- Yeah. - I whispered, trying to not make any more sound or movement that I needed to in that moment. – A little. – I added and scrunched up my nose.

- Why? – He asked, worry tracing his voice. I looked at him, trying to find the farce behind the sincerity of his words.

- Two parties in a span of a week. - I said, trying to hide my face from his gaze. – A little too much.

- And this comes from Miss New York? – He asked with a laugh.

- Yeah, I know. – I sighed before composing myself. – Still too much. - I added in a whisper.

- What? – He asked. - You're not a party girl?

- I... - I paused before looking up at him, pleading look in my eyes. I could not muster anything to say and instead shook my head in response, looking straight into his stormy eyes.

- Did not see that coming. - He shook his head and paused before asking. - Is it okay?

- What? – I furrowed my eyebrows at him.
