"I don't see why I have to be here."
"Come on." Slamming the car door shut behind them, Lili repressed a smile as she and Lydia headed up the path towards Lydia's school. "It's good for you to mix with other people."
"If you say so." Lydia grumbled. Leaning closer to her sister, she lowered her voice conspiratorially. "But shouldn't we be... you know, doing more training?"
"Ah, but Lydia..." A wry look crept across Lili's face. "This is training. Besides, we had a deal— you'll be more sociable and I'll not tell Dad about having to pick you up from the police station."
"I'm reconsidering."
"Come on, it'll be fun. You'll see. You know, I never had a homecoming. Or a prom."
"You didn't miss much. It's not all it's cracked up to be."
"What, putting on a pretty dress, dancing the night away with a handsome young man and getting to be the belle of the ball? Oh no, I can't see the appeal at all."
"I just don't get it has to be planned so far in advance! It's still my summer holidays, for crying out loud!"
"The extra credit doesn't hurt." Lili ruffled Lydia's hair fondly. "Tell you what, if you go do this, I'll take you shopping after and we'll see if we can find you a dress for the dance."
Lydia thought for a moment. "...I'm not sure your taste in dresses and my taste in dresses is quite the same."
"Alright, cheeky." Lili laughed as she pushed Lydia through the school doors. "One day, you're going to miss these kinds of things."
Inside the school hall, the small group that made up the homecoming committee were gathered. Lydia pulled a face when she saw several people she didn't really get on well with.
"Oh... hey." Looking over at who was speaking, Lydia saw Jess standing a nervous distance away. "I didn't know you would be here."
"I... uh... joined last minute." Lydia grumbled.
Beaming, Lili patted Lydia on the back. "Great! I told you it'd be fun. See you later, okay?" Before Lydia could even manage a word, she turned and headed out the door.
Returning to her jeep, Lili was thinking about what she could do with the rest of her time today when she saw someone familiar on the other side of the road. Crossing to the opposite sidewalk, she crept up behind him, leaning on the side of his car. "Now, I know you don't go to school here. Are you following me or something?"
Billy did a double take. "Oh, hey, it's you Bon-bon."
"Bon-bon?"
He grinned wolfishly. "Because you're sweet."
Lili raised an eyebrow. "I'm sweet?"
"Because you're tasty."
She laughed. "That’s more like it."
Taking out a packet of cigarettes, he put one between his lips before offering her the rest. "Want one?"
"I've just had to give my sister a lecture on not smoking."
"Suit yourself." Putting the packet back in his pocket, he took out a lighter and lit the cigarette. Lili watched him take a couple of puffs.
"On the other hand, what she doesn't know won't hurt her." Stealing it from him, she put it between her own lips and took a long drag. "Fuck, that's good."
Billy laughed as she blew smoke rings at him. "I've got some better stuff in the car if you want."
"Oh, that's why you're here." She smiled and shook her head. "I may have lied about the tobacco addiction, but I don't do that other stuff."
Taking the cigarette back, Billy gestured with his head towards the school. "You here because of your sister then?"
"Yeah, she's got extracurriculars. Now I've just got to... kill time."
"You wanna make out?"
Caught off guard, Lili laughed. "That's a bit forward, isn't it?"
Grinning, he leant towards her across the bonnet of his car. "I don't know, I think you quite like me being forward."
"... Oh, alright then."
They were kissing in the back seat when the alarm went off.
"Shit, wha'ssat?"
"Fire alarm." Billy said, lips trailing down her neck. "Ignore it."
"— Shit, that's the school!" Scrambling off of him, Lili stumbled out of the vehicle. "Lydia!"
A/N: So, just in case you all haven't figured it out yet, I am actually British and we don't have homecoming here. XD Alongside that, I recently realised half the stuff I planned to do with Lydia didn't really fit within the timeline of season 3, so I'm trying best I can to make things work. Google has been a massive help here.
So yeah, if things seem a bit weird and out of place (like the homecoming committee being in the middle of summer— I don't know how legit that is. XD) please just bear with me and work under the assumption Lydia's school does things a bit differently.Hope you enjoyed it regardless! Don't forget to leave a like and comment!
