hours in the shop felt like days and i was glad to be on my last client. she took forever, but because she was my last one i cut her some slack. all she wanted was a frontal touch up, so i wasn't tripping.
but damn did she think i wanted to be in here all night? clients never think...mm...maybe she's tired.
"hey! sorry i'm so late, i had some issues with my car." she damn near fell into the shop in a rush. i gave a small smile as she sat in my chair taking her purse off her shoulder. there was nothing to talk about cause this would take an hour at the most.
i'm ready to go home. and she know she lying about her car having issues, that's the typical excuse.
i took a cotton ball spraying a bit of alcohol on it before dabbing it across her lace. i'll have to wash the lace so it wouldn't be clumps of glue on the relay.
"this section is so beautiful, i love it."
"thank you girl. i appreciate that." i slowly peeled her wig off and took it to the sink. as i was washing it, pulling the glue off, i heard the bell from the door opening again. the fuck?
my head snapped over cause this girl is my last client and i don't plan on taking any walk ins. it's 9pm. i won't be leaving here until about 10-11, depending on how long it takes to clean up.
this is my shop but i sill like to keep it clean.
"bae i said stay in the car." my client spoke to the girl that walked in. i continued what i was doing since that wasn't my business. thank goodness she wasn't a random looking for a last minute appointment.
there's usually a no guests policy but i don't care about shit right now. besides getting her out so i can leave. i've been here since 9am. don't nobody wanna be doing this shit all damn day. but i picked my job so shit...
"mama i ain't sitting in that car."
"i told you there's a no guest policy, you trynna pay extra?"
"i don't care, but i'm not sitting out there."
i glanced up, pushing my glasses up my nose before looking between them. so they were aware of the policy, that's good. sometimes clients won't even look over the policy page and do what they want. but there's also clients who know, but don't give a fuck.
"it's okay, you don't gotta worry about that. it's late." i spoke up. i'm the only one in here, that rule is mainly because of multiple clients being inside at once. it's just us.
"are you sure? i don't wanna disobey-"
"it's good. really." i pushed the wig on the foam head and turned on the dryer so it could be drying while i cleaned up her hairline and switched her cap.
it was real quiet overall which i was thankful for. not gonna lie it made me even more sleepy. i'm glad i didn't wear contacts today cause they would've been fucked with the way my eyes watered constantly.
