"You know, we still haven't really talked about everything that happened." Elise brought up as they walked through an aisle in Goodwill shopping for somewhat cheap clothes for Elijah to wear throughout his stay at Elise's apartment.
"Well, what do you want me to tell you?" Elijah stood beside her, looking at her blue eyes that complimented her blonde hair.
"How long did you know her?"
Elijah stopped and looked through some of the racks, "Well, I've known her since secondary school but we hadn't talked much then until like a year ago, that's when things got pretty intense." He paused, "Then she asked me out, and I said yeah cause I didn't want to disappoint her, you know what I mean? We were steady for a few months until she dumped me and that's when I met you." He looked at Elise with a smile, "And I'm glad for that."
The blonde had a small smile on her face until it fell after thinking about everything that happened once said ex came back which lead her to her second question. "Why'd you let her comeback and tear our friendship apart?"
Elijah's face saddened thinking about everything, " I was in a rough spot when she came back and I thought havin' somethin' to take my mind off things would help. But then she started meddling with my life and my friendships. Now I've dug myself into a deeper hole cause we haven't made up, and to be straight up, im not exactly dying to."He looked at Elise, "I promise, I didn't want to lose you, if I could go back, I'd never take her back."
"Wow." Elise was shocked by the last thing he said, "I'm glad we had this talk in the middle of Goodwill." They both laughed.
"You know, I hated you a lot, but deep down I still missed you. And hopefully we can be as close as we were before cause I really miss it."
"I miss it too." Elijah agreed.
"Well, shall we get back to shopping?" Elise asked.
"Definitely."
