Years had passed since Kenny's untimely death, but Toni had never stopped running the record label to honor his legacy. She had retired from music, dedicating her life to raising their children, Kennedy and Kenneth Jr., who had grown into remarkable young adults. They were straight-A students, honor students, and scholars, making Toni immensely proud. Yet, the void left by Kenny's absence was a constant ache in her heart.
One night, after a long day at the record label, Toni was driving home. Exhaustion weighed heavily on her, and before she knew it, her eyes began to close. The last thing she remembered was the blinding headlights of an oncoming car. Then, everything went black.
When Toni awoke, she was no longer in the wreckage of her car. Instead, she found herself back at home, 25 years old again, on that Christmas Day when the twins turned one. She could hear Kenny's voice calling her name, telling her she had received a call saying she fell asleep after dinner. He was getting ready to leave because someone had broken into the record label.
Toni felt a wave of déjà vu wash over her.
She remembered this moment vividly and knew what was about to happen. "Ken, don't go!" she pleaded, her voice trembling.Kenny looked at her, confused. "Toni, I have to go. Someone broke into the label."
"No, it's not a burglary" Toni insisted. "I saw what happened. The call you got is a scam. People are planning to kill you and steal everything you have on you. You... you passed away, and I had to live without you. Then I ended up dying too-"
Kenny stared at her, bewildered. "Toni, you're not making any sense."
Tears streamed down Toni's face as she broke down. "Please, Ken, just trust me. Call the police and find out. Don't go."
Seeing her distress, Kenny pulled her into his arms. "Okay, I won't go. I'll call the police."
Kenny made the call, and after a tense few minutes, the police confirmed that there were no reports of a burglary. Toni had saved his life.
Holding her tightly, Kenny whispered, "Thank you, Toni. You just saved me."
Toni clung to him, relief and love flooding her heart. She knew that this time, she wouldn't have to face a future without him.
