Sasha went on the main deck with eagerness at the sight of a deserted island, but looks could be deceiving sometimes. She has her bow and quiver of arrows on her back. Eustace was quick to notice that he has to be a little more careful around her.
"I doubt they stopped here my lease," said a sailor on another boat. "There's not a man in sight!"
"Once we hit the shore, talk you men and search for food and water." Caspian and Edmund both rowed together. Sasha and Lucy were stirring nervously. "The four of us will go and look for clues."
"Hang on! Do you mean the five of us?" asked a voice.
Everyone stopped rowing and turned to look at Eustace. "Come on, please. Don't send me back to the rat!"
"I heard that!" yelled Reepicheep.
"Big ears," murmured Eustace, rolling his eyes.
"I heard that too!" Reepicheep yelled again.
Everyone laughed as they hit the shores. Sasha was amused by Eustace's bickering with the noble Mouse. While Caspian, Edmund, and Lucy went off to have a quick look around for anymore clues while Sasha scout in the opposite direction with Reepicheep, Drinian, Rhince, and Tavros for any resources.
As the five of them searched for any resources that could be used, but they soon learned that the earth on this island was terribly volcanic. In other words, not much to use. As the others searched for any food, Sasha was searching for any cactuses in the dry environment, knowing that those spiky plants could store water in the arm thingies. But no such luck. As she continued searching for any sort of water, Sasha saw a glimpse of a lion's shadow at the other side of the canyon.
"Um... Guys, I think I saw something." Sasha's voice was different, stronger and determined. "A Lion. I think it was."
"It's Aslan." Reepicheep's voice was hushed with awe, his body trembling with overjoyed excitement. "The Great Lion. He wants to meet you, Lady Sasha."
Ever since Lucy and Edmund started mentioning Aslan, Sasha felt something jump inside her, like when someone in a dream mentions something quite mysterious, but seems to have an enormous meaning. She felt giddy and excited, like she had just read a wonderful book. And yet, despite this, there was also a bit of doubt lingering in her mind. How could she possibly be expected to put all her faith into someone she never met before?
Feeling nervous, Sasha started following Aslan's shadow. So, one foot in front of another, as the afternoon wore on, she climbed the deserted landscape. She jumped over ledges, climbed rickety fallen trees, and walked single file along narrow ridges as Sasha quietly followed Aslan's shadow. Hours passed quickly as she navigated the many obstacles, and by the time she reached a clearing halfway up the slope, the day was beginning. Sasha walked out onto a jutting edge. The sun was at the highest, and the sky was clear and has a refreshing breeze.
She soon spotted an oasis spread out in front of her. It's an enormous circular lake filled with sparkling blue water. Sasha gasped as she walked towards it. The caldera was a miracle of nature. The clear blue water shimmered in blue and gold in the bright morning light. Something about it reminded Sasha of the sun.
As she tasted the water, she spat it out once she tasted the salt in it. But when she looked down at the oasis of her reflection, Sasha was stunned to see a reflection of a Western-looking dragon staring back at her from the oasis. She felt scared, startled, curious, and confused. Why is her reflection in the oasis showing her a dragon's face?
The dragon's stunning white body shimmering like a million crystals. Large spikes ridged along her back and two ornate horns stuck out of either side of her head with faint golden markings. Her eyes rivaling the purest of blue pools, with long teeth protruding from a lengthy rounded snout. The dragon's long neck lowered as her great wings folded against her body, where sapphire blue and bright gold are along her spine and the edges of her wings. The mysterious dragon gazed back at the human girl curiously.
Sasha shuddered at the sight, remembering the stories about dragons in Medieval Times in the Other World. She heard about how wild, greedy, and unpredictable dragons were, in which they were put to death by the knights. But she quickly remembered the stories about Merlin's surprising connections with the Dragons in the Golden Age of Camelot. She heard about how wise, secretive, and fierce Dragons can be. Dragons represented many things over the centuries; Hunters, killers, prophets, warriors, courageous, intelligent, terrifying, beautiful, and apparently hers.
She soon felt a great presence appearing next to her side. Sasha gasped when she saw a majestic Lion standing next to her, she was amazed to meet the Great Lion of Narnia. He's in the same shade of glowing bright gold as the sun. She saw deep compassion, empathy, and wisdom in those great, amber eyes of his.
"Young one," said Aslan, his voice flowed over her like a gentle summer breeze and shooed away her fears. "You wonder why I have brought you here."
"I— You could say that." Sasha stared at him in astonishment, wondering if he could secretly read minds. "But I'm nothing special. I just work at a library and I just like any sort of book that I could find."
"You do matter young one," replied Aslan gently.
She gazed at him nervously. "You don't even know what type of person I am."
"You are called Sasha Stellato." The Great Lion's voice shook with a gentle rumble. "You are brave and willing to save those who need to be saved. You have been wounded by the cruelty of your world, but you have not let it make you cruel. You have came to life by the sacrifice of a dragon." Sasha was surprised and a little confused. How does he know that? And what does he mean about the sacrifice of a dragon? "You know what is right, and you will fight for it."
Feeling a little bit encouraged, Sasha decided to ask the another question at hand. "But why is this pool showing me a Dragon?"
"The pool shows what type of heritage you have as well as revealing the past that you have forgotten," Aslan replied to her warmly. "Touch the dragon's heart and you shall see your past."
Still feeling a little jumpy and inquisitive at the same time, Sasha placed her hand on top of the dragon's heart. And, at that moment, pieces of her memories have started to return to her. But, a huge deal of these memories weren't from the Human Realm at all... Many of her memories were actually from Narnia. A single memory stood out to her the most.
A pair of cloaked travelers could be seen as they both dismounted their respective horses, a chestnut and a dark bay. Both of their horses lowered their heads and started drinking from a bubbling brook. The two of them started walking up to one of the eastern hills.
When Sasha looked at her past one's companion, her breath was caught in her throat at the sight of him. The cloaked man was her beloved father, Mathew Stellato. His shoulders were already broad and strong. He had blue eyes and a brave, honest face. His sandy hair was encircled with a thin band of gold, hardly thicker than a wire. His upper tunic was of white cambric, so that the bright red tunic beneath it showed through. His red and golden highlighted cloak flowed behind on the gentle morning breeze.
They soon both stopped at the top of the eastern hill together, side-by-side. Her father was the first one who reached the top of the hill. Past Sasha quietly followed, nervous and curious as she joined her father's side.
"Father, what are we doing here?" whispered Past Sasha, her voice soft as the wind. "We're not supposed to be up here."
But her father was gazing at the beautiful sight in front of them. "Look Sasha. Everything the light touches is our kingdom."
At that spot, a beautiful sight met her eyes. The sun was rising in front of them. That meant that the whole country below them lay in the morning light — forests, hills, valleys, and a great river that was winding away like a silvery-blue snake. And beyond all this was the sea, and the sky was full of clouds which were just turning topaz color with the reflection of the sunrise. But just where the land of Narnia met the sea, there was something shining on a little hill. It was shining because it was a castle and the sunlight was reflected from the all of the windows. But in Sasha's eyes, it looked like a glowing star resting on the seashore.
"You explore all of that?" Past Sasha's voice was hushed with awe.
"Yes." Her father nodded. "But a protector's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day, Sasha, the sun will set on my time here and will rise with you as the new protector."
Amazed by this, Sasha's eyes returned to the beautiful scenery. "All of this will belong to me?"
Her father looked down at Sasha with a small smile. "It belongs to no one, but will be yours to protect. A great responsibility."
Past Sasha hummed thoughtfully, her eyes resting on every single piece of Narnia and was curious about it. "Everything the light touches? Those forests? And the Great River? And that valley? And the northern mountains?"
Her father looked down at her, a firm look in his eyes. "You must not go there, Sasha."
Past Sasha gave him a curious and confused look. "But I thought a protector could do whatever they want. Traveling anywhere."
Mathew gazed out over the great lands of Narnia, taking in the long view before he started explaining to her. "While others search for what they can take, a true protector searches for what they can give."
Sasha returned to herself, stunned and amazed at the returned memories of her past. She's half Narnian, half Earthen, and half Dragon. As Sasha accepts the truth of her heritage, she was surprised to see a beige tattoo of a dragon underneath her left wrist. But she noticed that Aslan was gone. With a shrug and an uncertain smile, she took off to reunite with the others.

"What food did you find?" said Caspian, looking into the baskets.
Once she reunited with the others, Sasha did a bit of archery whilst hunting down some fish. She came back with a basket filled with fish and carried a basket filled with her hunted rabbits and hares. She had earlier wrote in her journal about her archery skills, her hunting efforts, and her discovery. They each put the baskets in the rowboats.
"It's volcanic, Your Majesty — not much grows," admitted Rynelf.
Sasha looked around with a worried expression. "Where's Eustace?" She turned to look at Caspian and the others.
"I believe he's out NOT helping us load the boats," said Reepicheep, annoyed.
"I'll go and find him." Edmund began to walk away.
"I'll come with you," said Caspian.
"I'll come along." Sasha started following the two boys back into the deserted, rocky terrain.
It didn't take long for them to find glittering treasure and jewelry. They climbed down into the pit. When Edmund's foot slipped, Caspian grabbed hold of his arm to balance him. The three of them began to explore. The wandered around till Edmund saw a brown shoe on the ground.
"Eustace!" Edmund quickly picked up the shoe.
"Eustace!" yelled Sasha.
The shoe was smoldering a bit. A little way of the rest of his clothes lay in a pile. They walked over and examined them. Edmund picked up his journal.
"Oh, cousin," said Edmund sorrowfully.
"I am so sorry." Caspian placed a gentle hand on his back. Sasha thought she saw tears glistening in his eyes.
"He was just a boy," said Sasha sadly.
"I never should have left him!" said Edmund. He close to his tears. "What would happen to him?"
"In this place? Anything. But he wasn't the first." Caspian looked sorrowfully at the skeleton. "It's Lord Octesian."
"We should find his—" But he turned to look at Edmund had already found it. "—sword."

The boys and girl began to walk back to the ship. Edmund ran towards the rowboat with the burnt clothes while Caspian and Sasha both walked at a fair distance. But Sasha's ears pricked up at the sound of rough breathing and hard flapping wings behind them.
"Edmund! Sasha!" yelled Caspian.
Edmund turned around and saw a dragon grabbed him whilst trying to catch Sasha too. But Sasha had managed to jump out of the way from the dragon in time.
"Edmund!" cried out Sasha.
Sasha could have sworn she heard Lucy's voice on the wind. "Edmund!"
"Lucy!" yelled Edmund.
Sasha watched as the dragon flew all over the deserted island, through a huge smoky valley. Edmund's eyes widened when they saw letters carved onto the ground reading: I AM EUSTACE.
"You have GOT to be joking!" Edmund looked up at the Dragon-changed Eustace. The Dragon huffed before he started flying down to a landing.
