Scene 062

An hour later Dam walked into the Command Center. "Jac, I must talk to you."

"About?" asked Jac. He had an inquiring expression on his face.

"Well, I didn't know who else to tell, but I figured I would talk to you about it. Amy and I have mated. We've decided not to tell the High Medic or the Council of Six but to let them think the mating ceremony worked." Rushed Dam.

"You were always one to do things your own way." Jac said with a laugh.

"I know. What I really need to know is; can you fix the computer logs to show that I've sleep in my cabin for the whole voyage?" asked Dam.

"Sure, but why?"

"Well, you see, I'm going to move into Amy's cabin since we are mated," Dam said. "It's a shame, you won't let Cat in the main systems, she could have done it for us."

"No, absolutely not. She can stay where she is at. It won't hurt her. I don't want her running a muck on my ship," said Jac. He looked horrified at the thought.

"I'm going to move my stuff," said Dam as he went to leave the Command Center.

"Wait up, I'll come and help you," exclaimed Jac as he followed Dam into the lift. Both men were smiling at each other as the doors closed.

As soon as the doors closed the man at the Weapons' Command Station said, "So they've mated, have they. That will change the plans a little." Turk got up and left his station to go to his cabin.

Upon entering his cabin Turk went to his bunk and pulled out a small box from under it. Opening the box up he began to construct a small transmitter and tapped in a small signal. "The Zoi Pirate here," came from the transmitter.

"This is Turk of Zoidiar. Unable to complete the mission, please advise."

"Proceed to the escape pod, we'll pick you up and change strategies." Came from the transmitter. "Destroy all evidence of your presence upon the ship."

"Understood. Turk out." Turk began a massive cleaning and recycling of all the objects in the room. After that was done, he went to the computer terminal and deleted all knowledge of his presence on the ship. Finally before leaving his room he touched a spot on the back of his head, he groaned, and a popping sound came as a small device came out. He put the small device in the simulator and walked out of the room.

Out in the hall Turk went to a small unmarked door, it was almost hidden by a large video-screen. Opening the door and walking into a small room there was eight upright cylinders. Entering one of the cylinders, he called. "Computer, enter that the pod's ejection was due to a malfunction."

"Affirmative," came the computer.

"Computer, eject the pod." The computer closed the pod's door and Turk was ejected into space.

In Jac's cabin, Dam and Jac sat waiting for news from Cat. "Turk has left the ship," announced Cat.

"Tell us everything. He did before leaving," said Dam.

Cat proceeded to tell them everything that accrued after they left the Command Center. "He did exactly as you said he would." Jac groused.

"Once I knew where the problem was and begin to put all the pieces together, it was simple." Dam smirked. "You saved everything, Cat?"

"Just as you requested."

Stretching Dam said, "I'm going to have lunch before I contact Amy about our exercises today." He stood and left the room.

"Cat, please let Beauf know everything went according to plan. I'm going to take a nap." Yawning, Jac stood and went to his bed.
