A new kid.
Mission Creek High didn't get a lot of those. This boy. He is all things teen boyhood glory. His hair is brown, with soft curls, and less tamed than Chase's. His face is drowning in freckles, his deep chocolate eyes are big.
And Cecilia Cullen never wanted a taste so bad. There was something about him that just made her want to bite. She was staring at himwith those eyes. Like he hung the stars.
"Hi, I'm Marcus." Oh, that's his name, yeah. MarcusMarcusMarcusMarcus.
"I know." Leo bumps his fist with Marcus, it's a little awkward. "We have gym together. And study hall. And also chemistry." Marcus's head tilts to the side a bit. "We're lab partners."
"Oh. I . . . did not know that." Marcus's brows crease. And then he's looking at her and her stomach quite literally plummets. His uneasy look fades softly to something horrifying sweet. He watches her cheeks heat, he smiles. "And you are?"
Her teeth stab into her bottom lip, asmile playing on her pouty lips. Just how boys like it. A finger of hers twirl a strand of her hair gently as she stares at him with her moon eyes. "Interested." Her voice is soft and velvety, it makes him feel warm. One of his cheeks twitch up, all redden.
The Cecilia Cullen Effect, they called it. It's how you know she's got you in her trap.
Her friends send each other looks, a little amused. Chase clears his throat to break up the obvious tension. "That's Cecilia, our friend. You know, the one I told you about."
Marcus hums, he still stares at her. Her skin glows under his eyes. He seems to smile more. "Oh, so you're Bubble Brain?"
