Lando
You're in London?

Me
Yes

Lando
Same. Can we meet?

Me
Paparazzi are following me like crazy.. we shouldn't

Lando
It's safe there. Meet me at 7. *sents location*

I sigh, tossing my phone onto the hotel bed, staring up at the ceiling for a moment. It's been a few days since I last heard from Lando. I debated whether I should reach out first, unsure if he'd even want to hear from me. Unsure if he kept everything between us quiet. Unsure where we stood, especially now that Lewis and I are all over the media. I'm not even sure what that moment back in New York was.

The clock catches my eye, and I realize I have less than an hour to get ready. Panic mode on. I jump up, pacing to the closet, pulling out dresses one after another, nothing feels right. Nothing feels like him. In the end, I settle for a black fitted top with an open back, paired with blue jeans. Simple, casual. No pressure. No expectations. Just two friends catching up. Right?

I wait nervously at the spot Lando sent, glancing over my shoulder every few seconds, scanning for paparazzi. I've developed a sixth sense for spotting them. All clear, at least I think so. Suddenly, hands cover my eyes from behind and before I can even react, I feel myself being pulled away. I scream.

Lando: It's just me.

He uncovers my eyes, grinning as I whip around, half ready to smack him.

Alison: Jesus, don't ever do that again.

I playfully shove his arm, but my heart's still racing. He laughs, the sound light and effortless.

Lando: I probably will.

That smirk of his is dangerous.

Lando: Fancy a walk? It's quiet here, no crowds. Should be safe.

He adjusts his cap, running his fingers through those messy curls before slipping his hands into his pockets. God, he looks good- too good. When did I start noticing these things about Lando Norris? We fall into step, the streets unusually peaceful for London.

Lando: So, you and Lewis... officially dating now?

Alison: Yeah. Going public at the Monaco GP. Wanted a soft launch first. Get people talking.

He gives a small nod, glancing sideways at me.

Lando: It was smart. Really good move.

His smile is gentle, enough to make my stomach flip. I look down quickly, pretending to fix my sleeve.

Alison: Thanks.

Without warning, Lando reaches out, grabbing my wrist to stop me.

Lando: I asked you to meet me because... about the other night.

Alison: It's fine. Really.

I wave it off, trying to skip past it. I've overthought enough about what happened backstage in New York.

Lando: No, it's not. I feel like I crossed a line. And with everything - Martin, Lewis... I didn't want to mess things up more.

I sigh, facing him fully.

Alison: Martin made it clear where we stand. He doesn't want me. I get it.
