The moment Ren returned, it was like a storm had descended. His hand found yours instantly, a firm grip that made your heart jump.

"Are you an idiot?" Kaji growled, his voice low, dangerous, as he leaned dangerously close to Seiryu. "She’s mine."

"Oh crap." Seiryu stepped back immediately, hands raised in surrender under the prowl of Kaji’s wolf-like icy glare. Kaji’s teeth clenched, his knuckles primed, the growl in his voice like thunder.

"Ren… he didn’t know," you said softly, curling your fingers around his wrist, tugging gently. His glare lingered for only a heartbeat longer -your touch began to calm him, snuffing out the sparks from formimg. Only you could tame him.

It worked. Kaji’s angry scowl softened slightly under your gentle touch, though his eyes shot one last warning glance at Seiryu as he mouthed a curseword.

"Looks like you’ve been spared -now go away," Kaji muttered, his voice edged with a smirk as he turned to you, the corners of his mouth lifting into a smile. He could always find comfort in you.

Before Seiryu could even apologise, Tsubakino appeared, cutting through the crowd with an authoritative air. She grabbed Seiryu by the collar and hauled him away. "What are you doing here?" she snapped, her tone heavy with annoyance. "You’re supposed to be guarding the front, not flirting!"

"It's in my DNA you know." The brunette whined as he was pulled away.

She glanced back at you and Kaji, her expression softening. "Sorry about him. He’s just magnetized to beauty." Her gaze lingered on you, and she smiled knowingly. "I must say, you’re looking fabulous tonight. Kaji, you’re one lucky guy."

Kaji blushed, the red spreading across his face and to the tips of his ears. You giggled softly, finding his reaction awfully adorable.

You looked like you'd lose yourself if you looked at kaji for even a second longer. So you turn around, take in the surroundings.

hazy streaks of light sliced through the fog that poured from hidden machines. The beams shifted between blue, red, and green, bathing the crowd in ever-changing hues. All around, people shuffled and swayed, a sea of bodies moving in time with the beat. Drinks spilling, words blending, people tangling, the cusp of intimacy.  Chaotic, but somehow as one.

Would Hook really attack here? It didn't feel like its -was it cause you felt safe.

Kaji's presence was the the only thing reeling you in from becoming one with the hordes. His hands found yours again, pulling you gently toward the wall, away from the crush of people. The noise faded slightly as he leaned closer, his gaze locking onto yours, intense and unyielding.

"That really was an accident, you know," you said softly, trying to ease the tension. "I couldn’t avoid him."

Kaji frowned, his jaw tight. "You’re like shark food in here," he muttered, his voice rough. "Everyone’s eyes are tearing you apart. I hate it."

Your heart fluttered. "I…"

"I’m not gonna let you out of my sight," Kaji said, his voice low, almost trembling.

You noticed his breaths quicken, his grip tightening. "I—I don’t want to let go either," you admitted, your voice barely audible over the pounding music.

Kaji’s warm eyes burned into you, his hands rising to cup your face. "I… want to…"

What was this.. It happened slowly, like the world had stopped moving. His lips hovered just above yours, the heat radiating from his breath sending a shiver down your spine. The wall behind pressed against your back as his hands steadied you. Your eyes fluttered, unsure whether to close them or stay lost in his.

And then his lips met yours.

The first kiss was soft, fleeting—just enough to ignite a spark that raced through your body light lighting. Your eyes flew open, catching the moment frozen in his.

"R-Ren…" you purr his name, your voice trembling; face red.

Not enough. He struck again.

Kaji leaned back in, his lips claiming yours fully this time, a fervent, overwhelming kiss that melted every thought away. His jaw moved with urgency, the rhythm of his mouth crashing against yours, igniting every nerve. Your back pressed harder into the wall, his hands anchoring you there as if he couldn’t bear to let go.

Your breaths mingled, gasping between kisses, the air too hot, too thick. In Heat of love..  His lips wet against yours, your mouths moving in sync, every motion drawing you deeper into him. Tears prickled at the corners of your eyes, the intensity of the moment almost too much to handle. Every bit of you screaming to go long.

"Muah.."

Then it snapped - the need for air repelling you away. You let out a gasp, your head tilting against the wall behind you. Dizzying disco lights spun above, the colors blurring together. Your balance faltered, and you felt yourself tiptoe unsteadily.

Kaji caught you immediately, stopping your fall.  His hand cradling your neck as he pulled you into his chest. His arms wrapped around you tightly, holding you dear to him. Your head rested under his chin, your hearts hammering together so loudly -you had truly become one. Love..  really is amazing.

From somewhere in the crowd, Kusumi’s sharp eyes gleamed as he spotted the two of you. He grinned to himself, leaning lazily against a nearby pillar. "Finally," he muttered, amused. "Step one. Now Ren just needs to follow through."

"You seem more excited about other people kissing than us," nagged a voice, as they held Kusumi by his mouth.

"Someone's jealous," he teased as they resumed their makeout.

The world spun around you, and yet all you could think of was Ren. Your lips still tingled, every sensation and flavour soaked into your memory.

It still didn't feel real. You’d kissed—right there, in the middle of everything. It wasn’t how you’d imagined it, but maybe this was how it was meant to be. The whispers around you, the jealous eyes, they didn’t matter. You laughed softly to yourself, unable to feel anything but a dizzying joy.

"Oi, Ren," Enomoto’s voice cut through the haze as he appeared out of nowhere, throwing an arm around Kaji’s shoulders. "You really scored, huh?"

"Agh—shut it!" Kaji groaned, his face lighting up crimson. "I know."

Finally. You got what you were waiting for.  Yet the night is young; the shadows are alive, threatening to tear everything apart. It's not over yet.

The end. JK. Sorry for the little delay, I was struggling to get the best words to wrote this chapter. I've been writing this for quite a while, and I hope this chapter is something I look back on proudly. As for how the story continues, I got a few options and I'm thinking them through -all action packed and intense. We'll get to see Sakura in action again.
