using all his strength, he pulled you up whilst sliding to the other end of the room. parts of your body hit the edge of the floor. the fire that almost killed you got colder and colder as you got farther from it. you felt yourself press up against him, his arms wrapping around you while you both crashed to the other side of the stairwell. it put immense pressure on your head, and it was starting to hurt now.
you could feel the fire from other destroyed rooms around you two as small debris fell around. quickly you stood up after finally stopping. some of your body hurt, but it was mainly previous injuries that your adrenaline didn't allow you to feel. now that you were frozen in shock trying to process everything, it all came back like karma.
he put his mask back on. there was so much you wanted to say; wanted to ask, but no words were capable of leaving your mouth. it was going dry as you just stared at him. he couldn't see your face, but he knew your mind was blown.
"y/n.." he spoke softly. despite there being loud sounds of fighting and destruction, all you could hear was each other. your heart raced as he spoke your name, the two of you just standing still as you tried to process your disbelief and his relief. it wasn't long before his hand that grabbed your wrist slid down so he could grab your own hand. you flinched and looked down at his gloved fingers that slowly and softly tightened around yours.
"izuku..?" you had to ask again, even though you knew it was him. you saw his face. you looked into his eyes. his touch sparked you like your own lightning as he touched you. all of the feelings you tried to get over came back instantly.
suddenly the building shook again, making you both look at the floor where it started to rumble. your footing started to slip, and then you found yourself on your bottom again. izuku was in front of you, his arm wrapped around your waist to break your fall and his hand still in yours. he was crouched in front of you, and you were so close to him that your masks were almost touching. you could hear his slightly heavy pants, and he could hear yours.
"there's so much i have to say." he held your hands between your chests, and you looked down to see him tighten his grip again. it was like he was desperate. he didn't wanna let you go, but he slightly dropped his head before sighing. "but it'll have to wait."
"what?" you asked breathlessly, confused by his words then opposing actions.
but he lifted his head. "todoroki!"
you gasped again once hearing the familiar name. izuku jumped away from you just in time for who you assumed was said boy to come by on his ice and scoop you into his arms. you shrieked in pain due to your injuries, but shoto kept you close as he held you bridal style. the room went by in blurs due to how fast he was going, his ice quickly melting and reducing to liquid.
"shoto- no!" you put a hand on his chest and tried to push yourself away, but he didn't let you go. he was headed towards one of the many holes in the deteriorating building.
"y/n-" you heard his voice, and it started the waterworks for you. you never got to say bye to him, and you thought you'd never see him again, yet there he was. he too had a mask on, and his costume looked similar to izuku's. you wondered where they got it from.
but you were focused on something else. "mom!" your yells ricocheted off the walls, but they didn't reach her. by now you were outside, sliding down shoto's ice that he produced at a quick rate. it was like the descending part of a roller coaster. the winds made you shiver. "no! let me go!"
shoto sounded sad as he shook his head. "the whole building is gonna come down! you can't!"
it was true. it was losing pieces by the second. it was only a matter of time until the entire thing crashed. but your mom was still in there fighting, and you didn't even know what state she was in. was she hurt too? would she be able to get out? the questions and all of your pent up frustration pinned you down as shoto finally landed. softly he placed you down, and you hissed at all the pain that shot up your body like water that harshly broke into a building. he took off his helmet, and it made you cry more as if the water drowned you while you were stuck.
