First Christmas

THIRD PERSON POV:
T'was the night of Christmas. The hashiras all together were having a Christmas party that Uzui put together. Sanemi was leaning against the wall while holding a cup of Saki as he watched everyone open presents.

Mitsuri: Oh my gosh! I've always wanted a bead bracelet set! How did you know I wanted this Obanai?

Obanai: You talked about wanting one so you can make all the hashiras a bracelet.

Uzui: She said that once in a meeting like 2 years ago.

Sanemi was completely un interested. That was until Y/n walked through the door covered in snow.

Y/n: I'm sorry- I'm sorry I'm late! The snow was very crazy tonight. Did I mess anything?

Rengoku: Nope! We just now started opening presents!

Y/n: Oh good. Oh, nice bracelet kit, Mitsuri.

Mitsuri: Thank you!

Later during the party, everyone had opened their presents. Except for Sanemi. He had a couple of presents but he didn't open them. Y/n noticed this. Some of the other hashiras did too but they just thought he was being his usual self. Sanemi stepped outside and Y/n followed him. She saw him sitting on the porch and sat next to him.

Y/n: Hey, You okay?

Sanemi: ...

Y/n: Don't wanna talk?

Sanemi just turned his head away. Y/n then noticed his eyes were watering.

Y/n: Seriously, are you okay?

Sanemi: ...No...

Y/n: What's wrong?

Sanemi: ...I don't like this holiday...

Y/n: Seriously? It's Christmas, Who doesn't like Christmas?

Sanemi: ...I do.

Y/n: And why is that?

Sanemi: ...Well...Usually every year on Christmas, my mom would take me my siblings to see the lights....She did it the last time when I was 13 years old....Two weeks after she was turned into a demon and....you know that rest....Since then I....was never really fond of this holiday...

Y/n listened to him. She knew how badly damaged he was. After a few minutes of sitting alone in the cold, Y/n got an idea. She stood up, grabbed Sanemi's hand and started dragging him away with her.

Sanemi: Hey- Where the hell are you taking me?!

Y/n: Somewhere special!

After an hour or two of walking, They made it to the lights.

Sanemi: Wait....Is this-

Y/n: I know this place might bring back memories you don't wanna remember but, I thought this might cheer you up-

Y/n was cut off by Sanemi's grabbing her hand. He lifted her hand and kissed it.

Sanemi: It's fine, Love. Since we're already here, we might as well.

And so, Sanemi and Y/n walked through the lights together. As they made it to the main part, they ran into Genya and Muichiro.

Y/n: Oh, Hi Genya, hello Muichiro

Genya: Oh, Hi L/n-san.

Muichiro: Hello...

Y/n: What are you guys doing here?

Genya: Oh well...I wasn't doing anything tonight so I invited Muichiro to come with me to see the lights.

Muichiro: I thought we were gonna go to dinner-

Genya: No no- We we're gonna do that!

Sanemi and Genya stared at each other for a moment. Y/n noticed the tension. She signaled to Muichiro.

Y/n: Oh wow, Is that a hot chocolate shop? Me and Muichiro are gonna go get some hot chocolate.

Y/n grabbed Muichiro and dragged him away.

AUTHOR-CHAN/KUN/SAN'S POV
The tension was so thick you could cut it with a butter knife. None of them said a word. A few glances here and there but nothing else. Finally, Genya spoke up.

Genya: So....How was your Christmas-

Sanemi: Fuck off.

Genya just nodded and turned his head away. Again, Silence. Eventually, Sanemi spoke up.

Sanemi: It was fine. And yours?

Genya: Well...I just hung out with Tanjiro and Nezuko and their friends. I ended up leaving because the boar guy was getting on my nerves.

Sanemi: That boar head? The kid that looks like he was dropped on his head a bit too much?

Genya: Yeah him! He kept wanting to fight me. I had enough and left. I ran into Muichiro and asked if he wanted to come with me here. I was gonna send a crow to Eliza(My OC) but she was on a mission so I couldn't ask her.

Sanemi: Hm. Y/n brought me here because.....Nevermind.

Genya knew what he meant but didn't want to pry. He looked down at the fountain below. He chuckled to himself.

Genya: Do you remember when mom took us here one year and I fell into the fountain?

Sanemi chuckled when he remembered the memory.

Sanemi: Yeah. Hiroshi tried to help you but he fell in too.

Genya: Yeah and then you tried to help but you fell in too!

Genya and Sanemi laughed together as they remembered the memory.

Sanemi: And then when we gotbhoem, you took a hot ass bath and yet you were still cold!

Genya: You did too!

Sanemi: Yeah....

Sanemi and Genya fell silent against.

Genya: Aniki- Sanemi...About what happened on that day....I didn't mean to call you monster....I didn't realize you were just trying to protect me and our siblings....I'm sorry for everything...

Sanemi was reminded of that day. After a few moments of silence he spoke.

Sanemi: Don't be. You weren't old enough to realize Ma had been turned...And you don't have to call me Sanemi. I'm your brother, aren't I?

Genya's eyes widened when he heard Sanemi's response. Genya couldn't help but tear up before he hugged his brother. Sanemi was froze for a few minutes. Before he hugged Genya back. It was a soft tender moment. They then heard a voice clear. They looked over and saw Y/n and Muichiro each holding two cups of Hot chocolate.

Y/n: That was so sweet of you, sweetie.

Sanemi's face turned red as he pushed Genya away. Genya tripped and fell into the fountain.

Genya: HOLY- SHIT THAT'S COLD!

After a few seconds though, Genya started laughing. And then Sanemi joined in and started laughing too, followed by Y/n and Muichiro. Later, Y/n, Sanemi, Genya, and Muichiro got back home where they had their own Christmas.
