Taylor's POV - a few months post Eras Tour
"I hate this fucking song." I grumbled, fighting the urge to throw something at the speaker that had just started playing So High School.
"Sorry." Selena quickly apologized, grabbing her phone and changing it to something else. "I had it on shuffle."
"S fine." I sighed, knowing she was holding herself back from asking questions.
My 'so high school' man. God. I didn't even want to think about it. Travis fucking Kelce.
I'd been so in love. He'd owned my heart, my body, my soul, everything. We'd been such a sickly sweet couple, but we'd been happy. And then the feud had started. I'd moved in with him, we were both busy, and something had just blown up between us. Screaming arguments had seared through the house late at night, rough angry sex had ended it, and then we'd gone to sleep ignoring each other. I coudn't handle it, so without a word one day when Travis was out, I'd just packed up and left. We hadn't seen each other since. It had been two months.
"Have you heard from him?" Selena asked tentatively.
"Nope." I popped the p to make it seem like I didn't care, even though I did. "Would you call a girl who fought with you, fucked you, and then vanished with all her things?"
"No." Selena admitted with a sigh. "I guess not. But I just thought..."
"Yeah, so did I." I snapped, not meaning to be so sharp. "Fuck, sorry." I rubbed my forehead. "I'm just so tired of thinking about it. Him and I are done apparently."
I just got a nod in response, and no further questions. Selena got how messed up the situation was. I'd been hiding out in New York since I'd left, and I'd heard nothing from Travis. Not a text, a call, nothing. He obviously didn't care that I was gone, and that was fine by me. We were over.
"Hey, why don't we go out?" Selena suggested. "Benny's at a party, and we can tag along. Have a drink, dance, have some fun...." She trailed off.
"Yeah okay." I nodded. "That sounds good I guess." I really should get out more now. Get back into the world. Be Taylor Swift again.
Wrenching myself off the couch, I went to go and raid Selena's cupboard. Quite a lot of her clothes fit me, and the other way around as well, so it was really helpful when we went on spontaneous outings.
After rifling through her dresses for a few minutes, I found a sleek black dress, a plunging V neckline and a teasing thigh hem. Skin tight, showing off the chest, gorgeous. It oozed seductiveness.
"Nice choice." Selena nodded at me as she came in, snagging a pale pink number.
We got ready together, chatting over hair and makeup before shoving our feet into heels. Security would keep a hold of our things for safety, and they were waiting for us with the car outside Selena's place when we were ready. We were driven to the party Benny was apparently at, and we went inside together. It wasn't a public place so we were safe enough, but they were keeping an eye on things since it was in a huge bar. Packed but not stifling with people, blazing music and lights. Perfect.
Selena and I got a drink, perching up at the bar while we waited for Benny. She'd texted him earlier to say we were coming, and he turned up a few minutes later. He swept her off and I waved, saying I'd be fine alone. I didn't mind some time by myself. People watching was always fun.
But this time, I was surprised. Because who was at the party too? Not only one of my exes, but two. Joe and Matty, with different groups. They hadn't spotted me yet, but when I saw them I drained my drink. God. This would be a night if they spotted me. Neither man had let me go willingly.
