Chapter 5.2 : Double nimble, double trouble

Under the auspices of Hans Becker — a prominent figure in the general staff, Yan and Ivan successfully entered the interior, phase one: Infiltration, completed.

However, the little glimpse of hope was never entirely, Egelbert — a man who had forged himself in the entire of the war, he himself had infiltrated the Soviet infrastructure, bypassing so many officers, and then on the eve of the campaign, there were continuous power outages in the city, the most critical was the air force siren system that he paralyzed, Egelbert's contribution strengthened the path clearing to help the German army advance smoothly into southern Russia.

"That old man, I find him strange... He looks very difficult to confront..." — Ivan had a hunch.

There were also times when he counter-intelliged the Soviet intelligence agents, making them go crazy just because of him and his comrades. However, he had a defeatist mindset and openly disliked that guy Adolf, which caused him to be demoted many times and no longer be valued as before.

"The murderous aura he exuded was truly... Very strong."

For what Egelbert had experienced, this lie of the Bolsheviks was too bad. However, to be honest, he was fed up with this war that he already knew he would lose.

"What if he had already discovered us...!"

The only reason to explain why he turned a blind eye was because he didn't bother to arrest these people anymore. His experience showed that even if he caught these brats, others would quickly appear, and it wouldn't stop there. Countless stubborn people out there were still sabotaging and there was no way to stop them.  Perhaps it was because: The fateful moment had come, the wheel of history of the Third Reich, it was stopping, soon to disappear into black ink, white pages.

Egelbert gave the others a small hint about the presence of those spies, as for whether they could foresee it or not, it was up to them.

"In any case, the war will end sooner or later, it will end, I might as well... Help it end sooner."

He pondered that sentence in his heart, Egelbert himself was not eager to fight for the corrupt "ideology" that he had been pursuing for so long.

"Next will be the base's power station."

A preemptive strike must be made from the infrastructure, they would not be so abrupt as to attack them head-on like this — or at least until the lights were still on and the electricity was still running.

Ivan and Yan, as Karl's assigned engineers, were sent to the power station to maintenance, bad day for him! They will not fix anything but mess it up, their goal was shutting down the power supply system for the headquarters.

They pushed the door open and entered, the surroundings were pitch black, as if there were no lights shining here, perhaps because it was underground? They could feel the cold air clearly.

"Is anyone here?"

No one answered, only Ivan's voice echoed from the corners of the room.

"..."

The two continued to walk inside, when they were sure that there were no more followers, they began to take out the explosives, Yan — who had experience installing them, instructed Ivan who was still struggling with these explosives.

"Plug it in here, huh... Remove this link, it's not needed anymore..."

This explosive was a mess!  Ivan was confused by the complicated wiring of the bomb, he thought that they better would give him a TNT to connect to Yan's and that would be it, why God!
