"The sun in her smile, the fire in her eyes."

The afternoon sunlight streamed through my bedroom window, casting warm golden rays on the floor. I stood in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection and wondering if I looked like someone who was going out for a casual coffee, or like someone who was overthinking it.

Zara sat cross-legged on my bed, scrolling through her phone but glancing up every few seconds to critique or hype me up.

"Okay, the skirt is cute," She said, gesturing toward the pleated beige midi skirt I'd picked out, "But the top? Meh. You need something a little more suitable, not 'I'm about to present a business pitch.'"

I groaned, tugging at the hem of my white button-up.

"This is suitable! It's chic, minimalist—"

"And boring," Zara cut me off, hopping off the bed. She marched to my closet like a woman on a mission, rifling through my neatly arranged clothes, "We're aiming for casual but effortlessly stunning. Something that says, 'Oh, I just threw this on, but don't I look amazing?'"

"Why am I even doing this? It's just coffee, Zara. Not a date." I flopped onto the bed dramatically, covering my face with a pillow.

Zara turned, clutching a soft black blouse in one hand and a pair of my light brown pants in the other. She raised an eyebrow.

"You're doing this because Wyatt is cute, nice, and totally into you. And don't even try the 'it's not a date' excuse. Coffee is just a test run." She said with her hand on her hip.

"A test run for what?" I peeked out from under the pillow.

"The real dates, duh." She wiggled her eyebrows.

"You're ridiculous." Rolling my eyes, I sat up.

"And you're stalling. Here, try this." Zara tossed the blouse at me and perched on the bed, grinning like a proud coach watching her star player.

I sighed but slipped on the blouse anyway. It was soft, flowy, and admittedly more flattering than my stiff button-up. Paired with the pants, it gave off a vibe that was casual but polished. I turned to Zara, raising an eyebrow.
