One: Nightmare

The stars shine

The leaves rustle

The night is fine

But then comes a cackle

On the window

Something scrapes

Something bangs

On the gates

Diving deep under the sheets

Clutching the covers tight-

Gaining enough courage

To turn on the light

Feeling safe

Going back to rest

But then getting choked

To a breathless death

Waking up

Chills down his spine

Rolling out of bed

Nervousness rising like a steep incline

Looking around

Room is bare

Searching more, only to see:

HIS WORST NIGHTMARE

---

Written during the Grade 7 era for English class.  July 8, if I remember correctly.

This one received praises from the teachers in my school, and led my English teacher into believing I can be the school's representative in a competition.  Until he realized there was an age requirement and that I was too young, XD.
