A revamped version of House of Snake for maggiepotatoes! In this version, I updated the subtitle (the main reason I was going into the file lol), but also took it as a chance to change a bit of the background and to add more golden details to the sides.

This is definitely one of the benefits of making book covers for stories here on wattpad, because I sometimes get to revisit a cover when the cover a) needs slight updating or b) doesn't reflect my current skill set

This is definitely one of the benefits of making book covers for stories here on wattpad, because I sometimes get to revisit a cover when the cover a) needs slight updating or b) doesn't reflect my current skill set. There's been a bunch of times where I've gotten to do this, most recently with Cross-WarriorCross-Warrior's A Curse of Twisted Dreams and Davrielle's Ravensdale. Sometimes this process happens while I'm making the cover based on author feedback, (like with Silver for sparklingauthoress) but in a lot of cases, there is a stretch of time between the drafts.

For example, between the drafts of Hearts of Stone, Ravensdale, and A Curse of Twisted Dreams, multiple years passed. All three covers have a largely different style from before, but include elements that are present across the different versions. In the case of ACOTD, that is the ship in the background and Ash holding the sword. For Hearts of Stone, it is the focus on the roses. For Ravensdale, the similarities are even more obvious with a similar frame, color scheme, and outfit.

It's always really fun to see how an idea changes or how the story has changed too, over these periods of time. Often, the covers changing are not just a reflection of my skills but also of the writer's, denoting a new draft or their own journey editing or rewriting the story.

So, if I've made a cover for you in the distant past and you like the style I create now a lot more, keep in mind that I'm always open to revisiting a cover. It's honestly one of my favorite creative exercises and I try to share info on my creative process and what I changed between versions on instagram, threads, and my Wordpress so new viewers can see what goes into making the covers and also might check out the stories!
