NO ONE'S POV:

The blazing sun hung high above the academy’s sprawling training grounds. The air buzzed with the clash of elemental magic and the faint hum of spells being practiced. Alexander lounged beneath a tree, his head resting on his arms, eyes half-lidded as he watched the four seniors with mild disinterest.

Aliric, the most mannered of the group, stood in the center of the training field, his crimson eyes glowing as flames danced across his palms. With a flick of his wrist, the fire transformed into a serpent that coiled through the air. "Stay focused, Hashiko," he barked. "Teleporting mid-attack leaves openings!"

Hashiko, grinning like a fox, vanished in a puff of smoke, appearing behind Aliric. "And yet, you never manage to land a hit on me," he teased, dodging the flaming serpent with ease.

Meanwhile, Hashiro observed quietly from the sidelines, his blue eyes scanning the field with unnerving intensity. With a flick of his fingers, he created an illusion of an oncoming tidal wave, sending it crashing toward Aliric and Hashiko as he laughed boisterously

"Cheater," Aliric muttered, dispelling the illusion with a burst of fire.

Haiko, who had been silently practicing his magic (I kinda forgot his magic what was it again or I still didn't put it?), glanced over his shoulder. His attention wasn’t on the others—it was on Alexander, who now snored softly, oblivious to the chaos around him.

"He’s sleeping again," Haiko muttered, a fond smile tugging at his lips.

"Should we wake him?" Hashiro asked, his tone unreadable as he created a new illusion of Alexander suddenly jolting awake, only to dissolve into mist a second later.

Before anyone could answer, the air grew unnaturally cold. A sudden gust of wind swept through the training ground, scattering debris and silencing the banter. The magic they had been practicing flickered and wavered.

"What was that?" Hashiko asked, his grin vanishing.

Aliric’s flames dimmed as his expression hardened. "Something’s wrong."

A low, guttural growl echoed from the forest bordering the academy. The shadows beneath the trees seemed to writhe and stretch unnaturally. Without warning, a monstrous beast emerged—its eyes glowing with an eerie blue light and its body shrouded in dark mist.

"That’s no ordinary creature," Hashiro said, his voice steady but his grip tightening on his staff.

"It’s drawn to magic," Haiko observed, stepping closer to Alexander. "If we don’t stop it, it’ll wreak havoc on the academy."

"Let’s go," Aliric commanded, flames roaring back to life in his hands.

The air grew tense, the weight of impending danger thickening the atmosphere. The four male leads, stood shoulder to shoulder, facing the remnants of the mysterious beast they had just seen. But before they could even move, the ground beneath them trembled violently, as if responding to an unseen force.

Aliric’s fiery aura flared, his fingers twitching as flames danced around his hands. "Something’s not right," he muttered, his eyes scanning the horizon.

Without warning, the earth cracked open before them, and from the chasm, emerged more beasts—larger, faster, and far more menacing than the first. The creatures were cloaked in a dark mist, their glowing eyes fixated on the group. Their mouths gaped open, revealing rows of jagged, deadly teeth.

Hashiko grinned, cracking his knuckles. "Looks like it's our turn to play." He vanished with a blink, teleporting to the nearest beast, his daggers flashing as he reappeared mid-air, slashing through the creature’s hide.

Hashiro raised his hand, the air around him thickening with a pulse of energy. "Don’t let your guard down," he warned, his voice calm but deadly serious. "Their movements are being controlled by something—or someone."

Before anyone could respond, the ground rumbled again. A massive, hulking beast, even larger than the rest, stepped forth from the shadows. Its skin shimmered with dark energy, and it roared, shaking the very earth beneath them.

Haiko immediately stepped forward, his hands glowing, but the force of the creature's roar sent a shockwave through the field, pushing him back. "This one’s different," he growled. "We need to take it down fast."

Alexander lazily rose from the ground, stretching as though nothing unusual was happening. "Tch. Always so noisy." His tone was a mixture of annoyance and disinterest, but the magic swirling around his body said otherwise. His eyes turned a dark, molten hue, and the ground beneath him began to rumble in response.

A surge of dark energy erupted from his feet, cracking the earth beneath him as massive stone pillars shot up, colliding with the largest beast. The creature howled in agony as the pillars trapped it, its movements now limited. But before it could retaliate, Alexander raised his hand, and a tidal wave of dark energy crashed into the beast, engulfing it in shadows. The creature's roar died in an instant as the shadows consumed it whole, leaving nothing but the faintest echoes of its demise.

"Is it dead?" Aliric asked, his fiery aura flickering, but there was no excitement in his voice—just concern.

"I didn’t feel like it was worth my time," Alexander muttered, his hand lowering as the last tendrils of dark magic dissipated into the air. He turned back to the others, a bored look on his face. "There. Done."

Haiko stepped forward, his eyes soft but with an edge of affection. "You really don’t need to do anything, do you?"

Aliric shook his head in frustration but couldn’t hide the admiration in his eyes. "As usual, you take care of everything, Alexander."

The creatures they had been battling began to retreat, vanishing into the darkness that surrounded them. The ground slowly stopped shaking, and the atmosphere lightened, but the sense of danger was far from over.

Hashiko reappeared next to Alexander, his grin mischievous. "You know, if you keep doing that, we’ll never get a chance to shine."

Alexander’s lips curled into a lazy smile, but his eyes stayed sharp. "Someone had to finish the job."

Hashiro glanced at the retreating beasts, his brow furrowing. "This wasn’t a random attack. There’s someone—something—pulling the strings."

Aliric clenched his fists, the fire on his hands flaring in response to his irritation. "Then we’ll find them. And when we do, they’ll regret messing with us."

Haiko looked at Alexander, his gaze lingering for a moment longer than the others. "We need to be ready for anything."

"I’ll be ready," Alexander said flatly, his voice low but heavy with an unspoken promise.

With a collective nod, the group set off, determined to uncover the source of the disturbance. And despite the danger that lay ahead, Alexander felt a strange sense of calm in his heart—after all, he had the four of them by his side. But as they moved forward, he couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that this was only the beginning of something much darker.

The four male leads stared at Alexander in stunned silence.

"And you’re welcome," Alexander mumbled, flopping back down onto the grass. "Now let me sleep."

Aliric said to him  "You really are something else, Alexander."

Haiko knelt beside him, his eyes filled with admiration. "I’ll protect you next time. You shouldn’t have to lift a finger."

Hashiro chuckled. "Guess we know he isn't just cute."

Hashiko didn’t say anything, but the faint smile on his lips spoke volumes.

As Alexander drifted back to sleep, the four exchanged a knowing glance. Trouble had a way of finding them—but so did Alexander, their lazy  junior, who somehow always managed to steal their hearts.
