[MERGED GANGS]

ZEKE'S P. O. V

I gathered all the members of my gang. Our numbers had grown to nearly two thousand, but the recent attack by the RSG on Pantherion Base reduced that. It wasn't a minor skirmish—Eagle's men were formidable. Reports confirmed that only around twenty of their forces assaulted us, yet we lost nearly three hundred in the fight. The attack was a chilling reminder of their strength.

Among the dead was Connor's twin brother, fueling his thirst for revenge. Even Vrandeir and Zeus, who led the evacuation that saved many from being wiped out, fell that night. Their sacrifices ensured not everyone in the base perished.

"Where are you planning to move them, Kuya? Or will you let them stay here?" Axel asked as he handed me a wine glass.

I accepted it, taking a slow sip before answering. "I called Kaiser to ask if he had another place where we could temporarily relocate to Pantherion Base. The conversation led to the decision to merge our forces for now."

Axel's brows furrowed. "A-are you sure?"

I swirled the wine in my glass, my gaze fixed on the crimson liquid. "Yeah. But this isn't an official alliance between our gangs. It's just temporary—just until our new base is established."

He crossed his arms and leaned against the table. "So, you're still planning to keep the gang running even after we deal with Eagle?"

I paused mid-sip, then raised my eyes to meet his. "I'll eventually pass on my position. But when I do, I want to leave the gang in a stable state for whoever succeeds me."

Axel's expression softened. "And you'll go back to med school after that?"

A small smile tugged at my lips. "Yeah. That's what Mom wants for me. That's what I've always wanted, too."

Ever since I was a child, studying medicine has been my dream. But I put it aside to focus on my siblings and the brewing conflict with the Red Shadow Gang. Before I can save lives as a doctor, I need to protect the ones who matter most to me, even if it means resorting to brutal methods.

"You sure you can handle things here?" I asked, shifting the topic.

Axel sighed deeply, then nodded. "Yeah, I already filed a sick leave."

I raised a brow. "What's your illness?"

"Missing you, kuya." He smirked and winked.

I rolled my eyes. "Cut it out, Axel."

"Joke—"

I stood up, brushing off his teasing. "I'm heading over to see Kaiser and Cedric. I'm worried about the penthouse."

Axel chuckled, leaning back in his chair. "As long as your house doesn't explode, don't stress about it, Kuya. But knowing them, he'll behave—for now. Just don't forget Kaiser's 'gift.' Otherwise, he'll retaliate, and we both know how bad that can get. Remember last time? He smashed my phone with a hammer and dropped it from the rooftop."

"Exactly why I won't forget." I showed him my phone's lock screen, which read: 'Kaiser's donuts, three boxes for 'I love you' with a devil emoji."

Axel burst out laughing, clutching his stomach as he pointed at the screen. "What even is that?"

Shaking my head, I turned off the display. "Gotta go. Call me if anything comes up."
