Niall’s P.O.V.
My hands were clammy and disgusting, not to mention my entire body was shaking. I was sitting in the passenger’s seat of Zayn’s car, staring at the beautiful brick school building overflowing with kids all dressed like me. Black slacks, white shirts, and red blazers outlined in white. My heart was pounding.
“Hey,” Zayn cooed, his lips on my neck, “It’s okay,”
I nodded numbly.
“If anything happens, just call me, yeah? I will have my phone with me all day, no matter what happens. I’m just job searching all day, so really, angel, call me for anything,” Zayn said.
I nodded again.
“Good, now you have to go, angel,” He breathed down my neck, “Your class starts in a few minutes,”
I bit my lip and turned around to face Zayn, pecking him softly on the lips, “I’ll see you after school?” My voice was all shaky and weak.
“Of course,” He smiled, kissing me again, “Right after school,”
I took a deep breath and got out of the car, looking back to Zayn only once, seeing him smile and wave, and then walking straight for the school. My body was a mess, shaking and trembling and I felt so silly and weak. It was just school. I shouldn’t feel like this.
“You look like a new kid,” A voice came out of nowhere. I flinched out of habit and turned to face the boy who had just spoken to me. He was short, about my height, maybe a bit shorter, and his uniform was all out of order. Brown and soft looking hair sat on his head, sweeping slightly to the side. I nodded. “That’s what I thought. I’m Josh, by the way. Josh Devine,”
I stared at Josh, trying to figure out if this was really happening. I had to decided what this was. Was he a monster? Or was he like Zayn? Someone who would actually try to save me and help me through this new high school.
“Uh, do you talk?” He asked, blushing slightly, like he was afraid I was actually mute. I smiled a little bit and shook my head.
“I’m Niall,” I said.
“Well, Niall, it’s nice to meet you. Irish name, yes? So, do you happen to like music? I play the drums. Started when I was really young. Where are you from?”
There were so many questions it was hard to focus in on just one. I opened my mouth about to respond when the warning bell rung.“Oh, shoot,” Josh said, “Here, let me help you to your first class,” He grabbed my schedule from my hands and read it over, “Great, it’s this way, c’mon,”
Then he grabbed my hand and dragged me down the hallway.
Zayn’s P.O.V.
It didn’t take long to find a job surprisingly. Sure, it was only a waiter position that was part time, but it would work. It would pay for the flat and the food, the rest I could figure out later. This would work for the time being. Seeing as I just got the job, I wasn’t due to start working for a week or so, which left me absolutely nothing to do. I considered going to check up on Niall, but I knew he needed to do this on his own, become a little more independent again. I may have been coddling him too much. But, hell, the beautiful boy deserved it.
