     Over a thousand years, the Mikaelson family has accumulated hundreds upon hundreds of secrets, and one of the biggest ones was the baby of the bunch, Henrik Mikaelson. Those who know the history of the Mikaelsons believe that he died when they were all human, mauled by a werewolf one fateful night and kick-starting the fall of their family and the rise of the Originals. To them, Henrik's tale ends there, nothing but a catalyst in the story of the Originals.

     To the select few who know the real story, however, that's where Henrik Mikaelson's story starts.

     On the same night Klaus was bound to his hybrid curse, Esther also brought back her youngest child, unknowingly creating one of the first immortal witches in history. He could die, but he could never die permanently, cursed to come back every single time. The process was painful, and did nothing but make him grow bitter and colder as the centuries flew by.

     By the time he arrives in Mystic Falls, called there by Klaus because of a family emergency, Henrik cares very little about Klaus's problems and cares even less about Mystic Falls, including the people in it. But then he's tasked to get close to a human with an untriggered werewolf curse, and suddenly he cares a little too much.
