Today was the day I've been dreading for so long. Today was the day that school started back. You might be wondering why I would dread school if it meant I got away from John for 7 hours and I got to see Matthew. Well, it's not like that exactly. Yeah, sure I get to see Matthew but it's like John follows me to school. Everyone here hates me except Matthew and Haley. Everyone thinks it's a great idea to push me into lockers, knock me on the floor, and treat me like I'm invisible. They think it's okay to hit me and call me names and it's been that way all of my life.
"I see the school's biggest loser has a new bruise" James, the school's biggest bully, said as I walked through the school doors.
"And she got uglier over night" his 'sidekick,' Jordyn, teased.
"Hey!" I heard Matthew yell. "Leave her alone!" James and Jordan took it upon themselves to kick me one more time before they left.
"You okay?" Matthew asked me. "I'm fine." I lied just like any other girl would. I mean who would want anyone to know they're hurting over something they've been used to all their life.
"Let's get this day over with" I said as Matt walked with me to 1st period.
The next three classes dragged by and left me alone without Matt, until the bell finally rang for lunch.
I walked into the cafeteria and headed towards the back where Haley and Matt were sitting. I looked and saw a lunch line that was too long to stand in so I decided to skip lunch. One day wouldn't hurt right? I mean I've done this all before.
"You not eating today?" Haley asked.
"No the lines to long and I don't need to really" I said and sat down.
"Come on, you need to eat Chlo. You haven't eaten lunch in 3 days." Matt said pushing his food towards me.
"No, really, you need to eat" Haley said.
"No, I'm fine, really" I said.
"Eat. Now." Matt said and I laughed.
"No Matthew" I said.
"Oh don't eat that," Jordyn said walking by.
"Yeah, you're too fat, loose some weight" James said.
"Can you leave her alone already?" Haley protested.
"What are you going to do it about?" James asked. Matthew got up and before I could stop him, he punched James in the face.
"Leave my girl alone okay?" Matthew yelled. His girl? We're just best friends right?
