Chapter 29

Sanjana

I stood watching all faces siting in my apartment looking all worried and nervous. My eyes moved o my grandfather and finally to Rishi. They both quickly looked away. Pooja cleared her throat, clearly amused with the situation

''So my disappearance is what made you all realize my worth?'' I said glaring at all. Silence, is what I got in return.

''Dadu, why do you look worried? You disowned bhai, his small child . You called his wife names. Now why worry about me?'' He kept his silence

''And you, THE BAD BOY. What did you think, this was some kind of mills & boons novel where you will threaten and abduct me. Torture my family and I will do as you please. I might me good , but I hit you right where it hurts.'' I watched as he crossed his legs in defence and Pooja scoffed quickly masking her laugh.

''Why was it so difficult? Why can't you all behave like normal humans. All I asked was my family to respect my choices, but I realized Khanna's can only demand respect out of their false pride and give none.''

''Sanju!'' Dadu said but then lowered his eyes. ''Are you really worried about me or Rishi destroying you business is the reason for this affection?'' He flinched. I admit, I sounded rude but I seriously can't trust any of them .

''Sanajna, we are sorry.'' Dad said and I softened a bit. In all this, he is the only one who actually supported and sided with me. He was being torn apart by dadu everyday about not bringing me up right. Yet, he told me to follow my heart.

Moving to my uncle I stood with my arms crossed. ''How did you not feel like meeting your grand daughter. A tiny baby who is of no fault and is hated by the family who should adore her.''

''Why should I trust any of you? If you can do that to a Little baby, all this right now must be an act!''

Karan bahi squeezed my shoulders trying to calm me down. ''No bhai, what kind of love is his? Until we dance on their numbers we are good, but if he look for our happiness, everything is bad. Are we family or dolls they bought to entertain themselves.''

''Calm down Sanju! They are here to apologize. Forgive them, for me.''

Glaring at my family I moved next to Rishi. ''What were you thinking? Do I look like a damsel?''

He shook his head. ''Did you think I would happily dance on your tunes. I have ways to bring you on your knees. I could have easily fed you laxative or may be poison with love for troubling my family. '' He gulped

''Can you actually poison me?''

''Shut it! You will just listen.'' Pooja scoffed again. Here I am trying to be menacing and her back ground addition is making all things really funny.''

There was so much more I wanted to say but couldn't. I was upset, for a whole year my family never bothered to speak to me. They were okay or I should say uncaring about me and that hurt. Did I mean nothing? Did me falling in love was such a big crime. They were okay to hand me over to someone I didn't like and would be miserable with but mad about me making a life partner choice. And on the other hand was this man, he disappeared and the reappeared only to go after my family. No one in this group know how to take a middle path. 

''I want all of you leave and not contact me till I am fine speaking to you.''

''Sanju please.''

''No, you were okay about not speaking or checking on me for a year than be fine with it now.  Now, things happen on my terms. I will call you if I feel like.''

Karan bhai whispered something and my family walked out after mumbling an apology.

''Do you need a special evection notice?'' I asked Rishi and he blinked

''Sanjana, I was just trying to make them understand  our love.''

''How? By showing your power or destroying they built with hard work. That doesn't make you a hero. Tell me Rishi, had I given in to your warning, you would have given such ultimatums all our life? Right!''

''Now you are imagining!'' He said with that smile which once stole my heart, but today it drove me mad. ''How does it feel being in my shoes, begging now.''

''You are going over board.'' He warned

''Then leave! I think I am done.'' I said turning away from him. I heard him take a step but Pooja came in between. ''Not now Rishi! Leave her alone.''

He took a deep breath. ''Ask your friend to take an ice bath, she needs to cool her head.''

That infuriated me, I turned around but Pooja held me. ''NO!'' Turning to Rishi she warned. ''Leave..Now.'' 

''MAD GIRL'' He said before walking out. I took long steps to the bathroom, picked a half filled bucket and stood in he balcony waiting for me to walk out and the moment he did, I poured all over him. ''YES I AM MAD.'' He stared at me and then himself, definitely mad and that gave me some peace .''

''You need to calm down. Rishi loves you and a lot. He did all out of love.''

''Do you realize his action would have got the hatred of my family for life. Every argument, every disappointment this would have come up and I don't want to be blamed by either of them in future.  I refuse to live like this. Walking on egg shells, always bending to either to my family or to this bad boy.''

Pooja hugged me. ''Fine! But I missed you as well.'' I know she did. We decided to go out for dinner later in the evening.

Rishi

Jay has been laughing like crazy for past 10 mins. ''Will you stop?''

''She has guts. No one would have ever dared to dump a whole bucket on your head.''

''She has lost her mind. What can I expect, she is after all Kishore Khanna's blood. Jay looked at me for a long minute. ''What?''

''I feel like pouring one more on your head. This is the reason she is mad. ''

''What do you mean?'' I asked

''they way you just commented on her being the blood of her grandfather. You will taunt her in future as well after every argument. And if she ought to share something with her family, they will tell her they warned her about you. She is doing exactly what you deserve.''

I stayed quite. ''Rishi, all of you proved that none of you are are her home. In your dad's case, whatever happened, he never blamed anyone or taunted your mother, and don't deny it. You have this rage against everyone who is not happy with you. It doesn't work like that. You want her , then want all of her her. Her family included.''

''What do I do?''

''Do I look naked?''

''What?'' I asked shocked

''I asked do I look cupid to you? The naked love god.  Find you way''

''But why did you say naked.''

''To rile you up. I need some fun.''  I groaned . I have all kinds of samples in my life. But Jay's words made me think. Yes, I need to change. I am thankful I didn't  say her being blood of her grandfather, she would have definitely killed me.

I smiled recalling about her warning against poisoning me. My sweet little Sanajna turning wild. I decided to let her cool the night and tomorrow I sweep her off the feet.
