Solana was sitting in her last class of the day, Spanish. She loved learning a new language, but she just hated how boring and dull the class was. She was writing down her work, trying to stay awake when the bell rang. She closed her notebook, grabbed her bookbag, and not bothering to put her notebook in, rushed out of the classroom and towards the front door of the school where her friends and boyfriend stood. She walked up to her boyfriend, smiling, and he wrapped his arm around her. Kevin looked at the two, slightly squinting his eyes before he spoke up.

"Solana, your brother on his truck today?" he asked her, causing her to nod.

"Y'all tryna go get some tacos?" she asked everyone, causing them all to nod and start walking. Solana yapped the entire walk while the four boys were quiet, almost completely silent. They gave Solana a response every once in a while but didn't speak to each other. They eventually got to Brandon's truck, and she smiled seeing her brother dapping him up.

"Y'all came here to eat or y'all just came to stand here?" Brandon asked, smiling.

"We tryna eat. Can we all get some tacos?" she asked her brother, pulling out her wallet.

"This on me," he said, turning to make their tacos. They walked back from the truck, standing in front of the building, talking and waiting on their tacos.

"I'm not gonna walk with y'all today. I'mma stay with my brother and help him run his truck," Solana said. The four boys nodded, and Brandon called their names to come get their tacos. They grabbed their tacos, and Symere took a bite. This was the first time he ever had her brother's food.

"Yo, this fire! I'mma have to come back for sure," he said, smiling and putting his hand out for Brandon to dap him up. Brandon dapped him up, smiling.

"For sure," Brandon responded. The three boys left and started walking home, going in separate directions—Kevin walking with Jake and Papa, while Symere walked alone. She walked onto the truck with Brandon and finished her taco, then washed her hands. She waited for customers and served two before a lady walked up asking for Brandon. She scrunched her eyebrows, tapping him on the shoulder and pointing at the lady, causing him to move to the window.

"Brandon Johnson, we're here to serve a search warrant," the lady said, leaving Brandon confused.

"Don't I know you?" he asked her.

"We met. I'm Alice, Detective Toussaint. Step off the truck," she said. This whole interaction left Solana confused and worried.

"Why? What did I do?" Brandon asked the lady, sounding frustrated.

"We have reason to believe this vehicle is involved in criminal activity, sir. Please step off the truck." She stepped off the truck, standing next to her brother and watching as they searched the vehicle. Solana sat on the curb, waiting for them to finish their search when she saw the lady step out holding a gun. Solana was shocked and looked at the gun and then back at Brandon.

"This weapon registered?" the detective asked.

"No, ma'am," Brandon responded.

"Got a concealed carry permit?" she asked.

"No, ma'am," Brandon said, his voice slightly quivering.

"Brandon Johnson, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court. You have the right to an attorney, and if you cannot afford one, an attorney will be appointed for you." They stuck Brandon in the car, and Solana immediately walked away, calling Jerrika to tell her what happened. Jerrika didn't sound too happy about the situation but eventually hung up, saying she was going to get him. Solana walked home and went straight into her room. She was worried about her brother, and she didn't have a ride to the police station, which was like an hour and thirty minutes walking distance.

She waited until she got a text from her brother letting her know he was out and safe. Then she grabbed her pajamas, went into the bathroom to get ready for the night, and finally returned to her room to go to bed.
