The sun was dipping low in the afternoon sky, casting a soft orange hue over the quiet neighborhood as Jimin’s car pulled up in front of Jungkook and Jin’s house. Jungkook, still dressed in fresh clothes from Jimin’s place with faint pink dusting his cheeks, stepped out, clutching his bag and nervously fidgeting with the strap.

Jimin leaned out from the window with a smirk. “Tell Taehyung thanks again for the bed and the cuddles,” he teased under his breath, earning a glare from Jungkook.

“Shut up,” Jungkook hissed, but the blush spread to his ears as memories of Taehyung’s arms around him crept back into his mind.

He was smiling to himself like an idiot when he stepped through the front door.

Jin, who had been wiping down the dining table, glanced up immediately and narrowed his eyes at the dreamy look on Jungkook’s face.

“Why do you look like you came back from a spa weekend?” Jin asked, crossing his arms. “You went for a movie night, not a honeymoon.”

Jungkook nearly choked on air. “W-What?! Hyung—!”

Jimin, who had just entered behind him, smoothly cut in with a grin. “We just watched movies all night. Nothing dramatic.”

Jin raised an eyebrow. “Who’s we?”

“Me, Taehyung, Yoongi… you know, just the usual group,” Jimin replied casually, tossing his keys in his pocket.

Jin nodded slowly, but something in his eyes remained sharp. “And what movie did you guys watch?”

“Horror!” Jungkook blurted.

“Romantic!” Jimin said at the same time.

A heavy silence followed. Jungkook and Jimin both froze.

Jin blinked.

“I mean…” Jimin chuckled nervously, wrapping an arm around Jungkook’s shoulder. “We started with horror. You know, the ghost thing. But Jungkook got scared, so we put on a romantic comedy after. The Notebook, right, Kook?”

Jungkook nodded far too eagerly. “Y-Yeah! So scary. I mean, the ghost. Not the notebook. The notebook was... sweet.”

Jin squinted. “Right.”

Neither of them said a word as Jin slowly walked to the kitchen, muttering something suspicious-sounding under his breath.

Once he was out of earshot, Jimin leaned in and whispered, “We seriously need better alibis next time.”

Jungkook nodded, face still red. “No more The Notebook. Jin’s definitely gonna Google that later.”

Jimin and Jungkook giggle and went towards upstairs while Jin stayed in kitchen

Jin stood at the sink, rinsing a glass slowly, his lips pursed as he stared out the window. He’d watched the entire interaction between Jimin and Jungkook, noted every awkward pause, every mismatched answer.

But as he set the glass down, a small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.

Because he already knew the truth

Flashback :- The Previous Night

It was past midnight when Jin’s phone lit up on his nightstand. He groaned, flipping over in bed and grabbing it.

[Incoming Call: UNKNOWN]

Jin’s eyes narrowed immediately. “What the hell…who's this?”

“hello”.  It was Taehyung...

Jin gritted his teeth and answered with a sharp tone. “What do you want?”

Taehyung’s voice on the other end wasn’t cocky or teasing. It was quiet. Strained.

Jin-hyung… I know I’m the last person you want to hear from. But I had to tell you something.”

Jin sat up straighter, immediately alert.

“It’s about Jungkook.”

And that was all it took.

Taehyung told him everything the club, the drinking, how Jungkook got separated from Jimin, the man who tried to touch him, and how he stopped it. How they brought him to the Kim mansion because he was too drunk to go home. How Jungkook slept peacefully in his bed, wearing his clothes.

Jin had gone silent.

Then his voice exploded.

“YOU LET HIM DRINK?! AT A CLUB?! YOU—TAEHYUNG, I SWEAR TO GOD, IF HE EVEN GOT A SCRATCH—!”

“I protected him, hyung,” Taehyung said quickly, not defensively more like he needed Jin to know. “I know I’ve done stupid shit in the past, but last night, if I hadn’t seen him in time, something bad could’ve happened.”

There was a pause on both ends.

And then Jin’s voice, quieter.

“…Was he scared?”

Taehyung’s voice cracked a little.

“Terrified.”

Another pause. Jin closed his eyes, running a hand down his face.

“I still don’t like you,” Jin muttered. “You did bully him. You hurt him, Taehyung.”

“I know,” Taehyung replied, soft. “I hate myself for it.”

Jin was quiet for a long time, before exhaling heavily. “…But thank you. For saving him.”

Back to Present

In the kitchen, Jin chuckled softly under his breath and shook his head.

“Romantic comedy, my ass…”

Then he glanced toward the living room, where Jungkook was curled up on the couch, still smiling at his phone.

Jin’s eyes softened.

Maybe Taehyung wasn’t the same boy who used to bully his little brother.
Maybe, just maybe…

He was becoming someone worth trusting.
