Orientation. Their chance to meet the rest of their year. To mingle and discover more about not only the people they are living with but people that they will likely share a career with. This is a day to start making connections with people. Petra rubs at her eyes as she digs out her crop hoodie from her wardrobe. She didn't sleep very well, she knew she wouldn't. Too nervous and too excited for today. Too much going on in her head to get any sort of rest. She finds the one that she wants, a black and red Silk-Spider themed one. Perhaps a little on the nose, but she loves it. A way to have her mother with her for this part of her life. Pulling on her hoodie she then crosses her room to the tray on her desk to pull on her web-guards. Then finishes her outfit with her red scarf, curling it around her neck. Her outfit is something she would usually wear to work out or train in. It wouldn't be the thing she would have chosen to wear on the first day but they were all sent a group email telling them to wear something practical, gym wear, for today. Which is a little strange considering it is supposed to be a day of mingling. Perhaps some form of quirk demonstration. She pulls her hair up into a ponytail, snapping a band into place as Banjo jumps up to nestle into her scarf. She reaches up and touches his head with a smile before she heads out of the room to head to class.
...........
The class is almost full by the time Petra arrives. Only a few of them are arriving behind her. The majority of them are all involved in some form of conversation, chatting and laughing with one another. Happy and friendly. Except two. One of which is not at all surprising actually. Bakugo. Petra snorts a little as she sets her bag onto one of the empty unclaimed tables as she listens to Bakugo and Ida's interaction.
"It's the first day and you're already disrespecting this academy by scuffing school property, you cretin!" Ida scolds Bakugo who laughs in response.
"You're kidding me, right?" He asks Ida. "Did your high school put a stick up your ass, or were you born with it firmly wedged up there?" Ida rears back a little and blinks.
"Let's start over. I'm Tenya Iida from the Soumei Private Academy." Ida offers.
"Soumei, huh?" Bakugo asks as he drops his feet and leans forward towards Ida. "So you must think you're better than me! I'm gonna have fun tearing you a new one!"
"Ah... You would threaten me? Your own classmate? Are you sure you're in the right place?" Ida asks him, his hand on his chest as if he is really surprised by Bakugo's behavior.
"Fighting already?" Petra asks as she approaches the two of them. Bakugo turns his head to look at her. "We've known each other for one day" She scolds him teasingly.
"Bite me, Webhead" Bakugo growls at her.
"Good morning, Parker" Ida greets her and she narrows her eyes a little trying to remember his name. "Tenya Ida" He offers for her and she smiles at him.
"Right, Ida...Sorry" She whispers and then glances at Bakugo who clenches his jaw. She chuckles a little and turns back to Ida. "Don't let him get to you...he seems to be a little bit prickly with everyone" Bakugo scoffs. Ida hums a little and then turns to Petra.
"Parker's not a Japanese name, right?" Ida asks her. She hums in agreement.
"My grandfather is American" She answers and shrugs a little. "Parker comes from him....as does Petra actually" Ida frowns at her. "Peter" She elaborates.
"If you're gonna talk...go do it somewhere else" Bakugo growls, slumped in his seat, leaning his elbow on the table and the side of his head in his palm.
"That's such a wonderful tribute" Ida offers. She nods in agreement with a smile. Her mother and grandfather were incredibly close, hence why Cindy wanted to name her after him. They had such a great bond and Petra loves that she was named for that.
"If you're just here to make friends, then you can pack up your stuff now" They all turn to look at the doorway and the figure leaning there. Petra smiles a little. Shota. Standing there in a sleeping bag. He must have gone out on patrol last night. Got back late and only had a couple of hours of sleep before his class this morning. "Welcome to U.A.'s hero course" He unzips the sleeping back to climb out of it. "It took eight seconds before you all shut up. That's not gonna work. Time is precious. Rational students would understand that" Bakugo taps Petra's leg to get her to move over a little so he can see what's going on. She shifts on her feet a little, giving him the space. "Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa... your homeroom teacher" Shota looks around them all. "Good. You are all wearing something appropriate....." He comments and then nods towards the open door. "Let's go" Petra frowns a little as she tries to work out what he has planned. She knows him, she should be able to figure this out. He never does anything without thought and rationality.
