Chapter 34
Starlet’s POV
We make it to a local cinema and by then we are exhausted.
“Hey what ‘bout taking a break, we could go see a movie together Star?”
“Sure it would be nice to do something normal for a change”
We walk into the cinema and all I can smell is popcorn sweet fresh popcorn yummy.
“Alicia, are you hungry?”
“Yes mummy” I smile at her this is the first time she has called me her mum and she is smiling right back at me.
“Can you say Daddy?”
She laughs and runs to Hunter “Daddy” I feel like Hunter is trying to take her away from me every chance he gets.
Alicia runs back and grabs my hand and pulls me off towards the food. I lift her up so she can see better and let her pick out a packet of buttons and grab some popcorn for me and Hunter.
“Whose hand are you taking?”
“Daddy’s” she runs to Hunter and takes his hand “Mummy take daddy’s hand”
“No baby”
“Come on Starlet it’s just holding my hand it’s not like it will kill you”
I look at Alicia and she is giving me the puppy eyes. I’m telling you she will be my undoing Hunter is using her to get to me and he is using the fact that she can talk as a weapon against me. I sigh and take his freezing cold hand my whole body shivers from his touch.
The movie starts and Alicia giggles and laughs and the funny animals on the screen. Then she gets up off her seat and I go to lift her up but a single sentence stops me.
“Me sit on Daddy’s knee?”
Hunter lifts her up and places her on his lap. I watch as they both laugh along with each other. I bring my eyes back to the screen, my heart is breaking he is using his charms on Alicia thinking that if he becomes close enough he will win me and every second I spend with Alicia I can feel her pulling away from me once again she is just a child she doesn’t understand that her daddy is a very bad man who wants to hurt her mummy.
I lean back in the chair and something catches my eye, a silver balloon floating near the entrance. What is a balloon doing in a cinema?
BANG
The balloon explodes and I’m on my feet immediately scooping Alicia into my arms. We run out of the fire escape and look around for any signs of danger. We have three possible options
Head back- but then we might be heading into a trap
Go to a hotel- but they could track and check up on very hotel in the area
Run for the sand dunes
Before I can say anything Hunter has taken Alicia from me and is running for the sand dunes.
Justin’s POV
I’m standing in Anna’s old house, there are tons of pictures of her and Starlet smiling and laughing. I miss her laugh and her smile. After Starlet and Andy were gone, we only had each other. I still remember the night we shared our first kiss under the stars. She was sharing memories of her and Starlet and I couldn’t help but laugh I mean who tries to take a nut from a squirrel.
I enter her study there is papers scattered over the entire desk but one piece of pink paper stands out
“This is a clue The lion fell in love with the lamb
P.S if you don’t get this you have to be a guy”
I think about what it could mean and then I remember Anna talking about that exact same quote apparently it’s from a vampire romance called twilight. I run into the living room and look at her DVD collection until I find twilight, I open it and a white envelope drops out
“Anna- Jane you have been accepted into political class this year. We would like you to present a portfolio on the President”
I look at the DVD it should be twilight but it’s not it’s something completely different. I switch on the TV and let it play.
“Thank GOD you have found this, I don’t know who you are but I need your help. I can’t tell you everything because I don’t know everything .. yet. I need you to find a girl her cover name is Rachel Lock head but her real name is Starlet Redd a man named Hunter who works for the government is after her, he is not who he says he is please find her and bring her to the white house that is the only place she is safe. I have to go if Sam finds this I’m dead please help me”
The DVD ends and Atom starts crying I pick him up and start rocking him in my arms.
“Your mummy knew something that none of knew”
Andy’s POV
I’m on the plane sitting beside some ginger haired guy.
“Hi I’m Jeremy”
“Andrew but I prefer Andy”
“So was that your daughter?”
“Yep”
“Cute, my girlfriend and I have been trying for a baby but now I’m here”
“Sorry to hear that, I don’t want to be here either believe me”
“Well at least we share the same thoughts, I’m glad I’ve made a friend though”
“Me too”
“Great we have each other’s back then?”
“I have all my men’s backs because I’m responsible for all you men. Are you sure you want me as a friend?”
“Yeah, more than you know”
Justin’s POV
“So I can take her?” Mia asks
“Yes, but I want to go with you to make sure you and Leah are safe”
Mia sets her down again and then runs out of the room. I chase after her down the stairs, Mia looks behind her and falls down the steps and pick up my speed to get to her.
When I reach I notice red hair poking out through the brown. I pull on her brown hair and it comes off in my hand as a wig. I look back at her and I’m in shock
