The hospital corridor stretched endlessly before him, a stark white tunnel punctuated by rhythmic beeping and hushed voices. Room 415. The numbers seemed to blur as Min-ho stood before the partially open door, his heart hammering against his ribs.

The drive here had been a haze of winter-cold streets and red lights that tested his patience. His knuckles were still white from gripping the steering wheel, his mind racing with memories he'd carefully locked away years ago.

Min-ji's laugh during their school days. Shared dreams whispered on the practice room roof.
Her uncanny ability to lift his spirits when self-doubt crept in. The fight that ended it all.

Now here he was, frozen in a hospital doorway, watching as another chapter of their complicated history unfolded.

Min-ji lay in the hospital bed, her once-vibrant face now pale and drawn. The sight of her hit him like a physical blow—how had so many years passed? But it was the small figure beside her that caught his attention: a little girl, perhaps six or seven, clutching Min-ji's hand like an anchor.

The child had delicate toffee skin, though showing signs of early dryness, distinctive hazel doe-eyes that seemed irritated to a reddish state, a chubby face graced with a natural pouty lip. Her chocolate brown hair was pulled into a messy bun, and something about her quiet presence tugged at his heart.

"Minho-ah," Min-ji's voice was barely a whisper, fragile as tissue paper. "You made it."
