Pokemon Center...

Dawn's POV

As soon as I had entered the Pokemon Center, I was greeted by a familiar face.

"Hey DeeDee, long time no see, right?" I looked over to the one person I knew who would dare call me a name I hate so much.

"For the last time, Kenny, my name is Dawn not DeeDee." I had to make sure my anger was in check, otherwise I would accidently drop Paul, increasing his pain even further. Before Kenny could open his mouth, Nurse Joy came and took Paul away, saying that she'll make sure to take care of Paul's injuries.

"Dawn, why are you helping someone like him?" Kenny asked as soon as Nurse Joy left with Paul. Brock had also left, saying that he'll check on how Torterra was doing, since they were one Nurse down.

"What do you mean?" I asked, even though I knew perfectly what Kenny was implying.

"What I mean is....Why are you helping out someone like that Paul guy? Ash told me about him, how he treats his Pokemon harshly and how he's always so cold to people around him. Why help someone who will never return the favor?" Sometimes I wished Misty was here, her mallet is really useful for situations like this. I clenched my hands into fists and gritted my teeth together. Alright, I have to stay calm, maybe they'll listen to reason? I need to tell them that Paul isn't as bad as he seems and that even though he's not exactly friendly towards his Pokemon, they still appreciate him. But before I could speak, Ash beat me to it.

"Not only that I don't that guy will ever change. I seriously feel bad for his Pokemon. Why did you and Brock give them back to him, it's not like he's going to make himself any better. Look what he did to Torterra, it's a miracle he survived through something like that and is recovering." As soon as Ash said that, Kenny started talking.

"Wait that was his Torterra?! God he is the worst Pokemon trainer ever. I can't believe he would actually do something like that to his own Pokemon, does he even care about them?"
"Apparently not, he releases Pokemon that he thinks are weak, he even released Chimchar because he didn't meet Paul's standards." I had had enough of this. I couldn't listen to them bad mouthing Paul any longer. Sure he had many faults, but that just proves he's human, right. I couldn't stop my hand from shaking, their words went deaf to my ears. All I could think about was how I could ever be friends with people who can't accept other people for who they are. That's when I lost it.

"SHUT UP!!!" I shouted. I wanted to slap them really hard, but I decided that maybe if they listen to how much Paul has changed, then they'll understand that he's not so bad.

"Paul has changed, he just doesn't show it too often."

"Come on Dawn you can't be serious? Paul changing? Ha don't make me laugh." Ash said. I thought I knew who he was as well, but now I know I can't trust him. What happened to the people I use to know? My friends who are always there and would help anyone in need, no matter who they are? Where did they go?

"Yeah Dawn, I knew you were dense, but I didn't think you were stupid."

"What do you mean." My rage wouldn't stop rising. Who are these people that claim to be my friends?

"Dawn, I love you." Kenny said with a smile. I was beyond shock. I actually knew Kenny had feelings for me, but I never thought he would actually admit them. One of the reasons why I didn't accept his invitation to travel with him.
