About an hour later, over the tannoy I hear "Can 1738 please go to the main stage."
I take a deep breath and walk towards the stage. A member of stage crew meets me and wishes me good luck before sending me out on the stage.
I walk on and the judges greet me with a smile.
One judge says "Hello, what's your name?"
"Sian Peters."
Another says "How old are you and where are you from?"
"18 and Staten Island."
The judge sitting next to her says "What are you going to be singing?"
"Black Magic by Little Mix."
The head judge says "Begin when you're ready."
I take a deep breath.
