The fire danced in the breeze of the desert night; it's flames swaying east and west.

And while the fire danced, the tribe of Qabil was seated around it, each with their eyes closed and humming the song of grievance.

The air filled with the cries of Hadid's mother. Her wails ripping at Cain's heart. He wanted to look at her; to see if that were how his mother would look on the day that everyone would hum for him.

He knew though, that he could not. Hadid's eyes would never see light in this life. And he needed to honor his dear friend by letting his family cry for him, without the worry of judgment.
