Dan knew that he wasn't a regular guy. He wasn't stupid, he knew normal kids didn't burn things when they threw fits. He knew why his friends were cautious around him in daycare. It was because of what happens when he was upset or tired or just plain emotional. Dan was aware of his power and knew he could get people to do what he wants. He was cautious as he got older and his parents made him move every time he had a fit and his powers came out. Dan didn't want to be taken away. So he blended into society and stayed cold and emotionless.

Dan worked as a lawyer. It was easy to keep his powers under control because his clients paid him to be emotionless. He didn't want to be happy for them or sad. The people he's dealt with were pricks and unhappy rich people.  Man did he hate his job. Dan was walking home one day when he heard someone move in an alley across the way from him. He squinted his eyes, and walked forward into it. All of the sudden, he felt the cold metal on his throat.

"You were to easy pretty boy." The smelly man holding him said.

"You don't want to do this." Dan said cautiously.

"Like I haven't heard that before." The man said. Dan could feel his fear and anger boil up. His hands were warming up as they clenched into fists.

"Trust me. You should run." Dan said.

"Oh ha ha, listen pretty boy-" The man said, his hand started trailing down Dan's torso.

"Dude really. An alleyway, how cliche are you?" A northern accent came from a shadow at the end of the alley. The smelly man looked at it and Dan took the opportunity. His fist was flaming and he punch the smelly guy. The smelly guy landed on a couple trash bags. Dan grabbed his bag from the ground and walked past the shadow. He stood next to him for a second. Just long enough to see it was a man and he had very, very blue eyes and pale skin.

"I don't need your help." Dan spit as he walked home.

__________

Dan got off his couch and walked into his kitchen. He sighed as all of the cabinets were open again.

"Phil I swear to god, if you keep doing this, I'm kicking you out." Dan yelled to his flat mate. It had been about a year after his alley run in and the day after he got an answer to his flat mate request. Phil Lester, a goofy blue eyed, ebony haired, 28 year old. He shared a lot of interests with Dan and Dan loved that. He liked having a best friend. Dan even let some emotions show with Phil. He was careful still, but more loose than before.

"Sorry." Phil said coming into the kitchen and closing the cabinets. The man was wearing a shirt with cartoon lions on it and his boxers. Dan smiled and rolled his eyes.

"Phil I have been to work and to the market, and you are still in your pajamas? I know you make money somehow." Dan said.

"I told you. You get to know, when I want you to know." Phil said closing the last cabinet. Dan rolled his eyes and went over to the sink. He twist the handle and it came off. Water began spraying everywhere. Dan gasped and so did Phil. Dan's hands went to stop it but al of the sudden the water calm to a trickle. Dan grabbed the knob and went to put it back on.

"I'll go get the kit." Phil said.

"I did this. I don't need your help." Dan said.

"Okay." Phil said with a smirk. He stopped looking at the water and it was spraying again.

________

Phil's job was hard to explain. To normal people, he said he worked from home. To people who knew, they knew him as AmazingPhil. That guy from London who can control water. Phil sat in the headquarters for people like him and was watching Dan in their flat. He sighed at Dan proceeded to melt a whisk in his hand as he was cooking.

"Dude you need to stop watching him." A transparent person said.

"How can he? I mean he isn't ban looking." A crab on the table said.

"You know if I told people that I'm talking to a ghost and a crab, they'd think I'm a druggie." Phil said. The crab shifted into a man with brown hair and the ghost turned solid and his body became colorful and his bright green eyes could be seen.

"So how's flamebo?" The ghost boy, Pj, asked.

"He's getting through. He has no idea." Phil said.

"You're going to have to tell him. I think he'd be happy to know you're like him." The crab, Chris, said.

"I think you guys would like him. Of course he'd be cold to you guys for a bit." Phil said.

"That's funny 'cuz the boy can melt any type of metal under his hand." Chris said laughing to himself. Pj rolled his eyes.

"Really, Chris?" Pj asked.

"Yeah I find it funny." Chris said. Just then, a small woman wearing black pants and a black jacket which displayed their agencies logo on it walked in. Her curly brown hair swayed as her combat boots hit the ground. She had black rimmed glasses which softened the blow from her sharp blue eyes.

"Ok three stooges, Oakley wants to see you." She said.

"Sydney,  always a pleasure. Might I say you are liking quite lovely, new blood nail polish?" Pj said.

"I will rip out your tongue, Liguori." She said. "Oakley said he needs you in his office within ten minutes and if you're not in there, I have permission to freeze one of you." She said with a cold smile.

"Got it Elsa. Let it go, somewhere else." Chris sasses. Sydney's eyes became bright and frost traveled to Chris's foot.

"Okay let's go!" Phil said. The three walked past her and headed towards their boss's office.

"She so cold, like literally." Pj said.

"So, who cares? She always threatens us. Pj you have like Stockholm syndrome." Chris said.

"Leave me alone. What about that hacker downstairs?" Pj teased.

"Leave her out of this!" Chris said.

"You know I expect better from my super-powered agents." A small blonde man said.

"Sorry Director Oakley." Phil said.

"You better be. Let's get down to business, so this Dan." Director Oakley started. Phil had his breath held the entire time. This was his friend, who was unaware of anyone else around him having powers, Including people in his family.

This could end in one or two ways, and Phil feared both of them.
