Yakitate Japan one-shot № 1 [Pierrot "Leol" Bolneze & Suwabara Kai]

The morning started as usual. A gentle knock on the door, a smiling face of a maid popping out of nowhere; the curtains were pulled apart to reveal a new day. The maid sing sung a good morning and bowed her head. “Will you be having your breakfast in your room Hisoka-san?” the maid asked softly looking at the floor. A girl shifted in her bed. A red head slowly appeared from the duvet. She blinked a couple of times and yawned. “Mia, I told you not to call me Hisoka-san, didn’t I?” she asked lazily pushing off the covers. “But, Hisoka-sa...” the maid started, but the girl interrupted her by raising her hand. “Soka. Just Soka, please.” The maid blushed lightly and nodded. “No I will not be eating breakfast today at all.” She stated finally getting out of the bed. She stretched and scratched the bad of her head. Her eyes travelled around the room in search of something. Hisoka let out a happy exclamation and quickly grabbed a small black item from the floor beside the bed. Her fingers moved fast as tied her red hair behind. “Your parents...” Mia started quietly. Hisoka looked up curiously. “Your father...” the maid continued. “Get on with it.” Hisoka hurried. “Your father wants to talk to you about something.” Mia finally said still blushing lightly. Hisoka almost couldn’t believe her ears. Her father almost never wanted to talk to her, even during dinner and supper he never said a word addressing his daughter, then why all of a sudden? “Okay.” She finally said marching to the bathroom that was located in her room. “I will down in a couple of minutes. *** Hisoka didn’t take long. She quickly marched into the traditional Japanese living room and bowed at the sight of her mother and father. Neither said a word, just watched at their fifteen year old daughter sat down opposite them and placed her hands on her knee patiently waiting for them to speak. Her father blinked a couple of times before finally clearing his throat. “Hisoka,” his rough voice called her name in a manner he never had before. “We have news for you.” Hisoka looked curious at her parents. It’s been a while since they’ve said a word to her, then why all of a sudden? “What is it father? Mother?” she asked. “We have an arranged marriage planned out for you.” he finally said. Hisoka blinked; the shock quickly paralysed her body making her unable to even twitch. Hisoka opened her mouth then closed it, then opened it again, yet no words came out. Her parents watched her passionlessly, as she tried to fight the urge to yell into their faces. Hisoka took a slow deep breath and closed her eyes. She quickly opened then again and sent her parents a long look of hatred. She didn’t hate her parents, she hated their guts. “Our dear family friends, Daigo, are willing to let their sun marry you.” her mother said looking down at her hands. Hisoka swore she could feel her mother implying that those Daigo were doing their family a big favour. She couldn’t believe her ears. “It is a great privilege for us.” *Yes to get rid of your daughter.* Hisoka thought angrily to herself. She bowed her head and then stood up. “Father, mother,” she started looking straight into their eyes. “I love you both, but I refuse to be married to someone I don’t love, moreover someone I don’t know.” Hisoka turned around and made her way to the sliding door when her father called her name. She froze yet didn’t turn around. “If you disobey, I will disown you.”  He yelled angrily. Hisoka didn’t reply. She slowly walked out of the room closing the door behind her. She leaned on the closed door and closed her eyes, sadness and mental pain spreading throughout her. She could hear her parents talking behind the closed door. “That child is impossible.” Her father yelled. “Darling, we might have been too hard on her.” her mother tried to protest. “Hard on her?” her father roared. “Don’t you think it was hard on US? This whole time...You know how shameful it is for our family to have a daughter, you know how...” Hisoka never stuck around to find out more. She rushed to her room and grabbed her bag, quickly shoving in her clothes and other items she needed. Packing didn’t take long. She didn’t want to stay a minute longer in that forsaken house. She walked to her wardrobe and pulled out a small box from the bottom of it. She opened it and took out the money. It was much, but it was enough to last for a while, until she could settle and find a job. She kicked open the door and marched out to the exit. “Hisoka-san, where are you going?” Mia ran after her young mistress. “Hold it right there girl.” Hisoka heard her father’s voice. “Let her be, she’ll come crawling back anyway.” Hisoka froze. She quickly turned around and glared at her father angrily. “Not in this life time.” “I’ll disown you.” he spat. “You have done already.” With that Hisoka opened the door and walked out into the bright sunlight. She took a deep breath and made her way to the station. *** “Kai, your determination is amazing, but,” an old man said raising his bamboo stick high in the air, “your technique is still crap!” the bamboo stick landed on the tall man’s head making his eyes pop out slightly. “SENSEI!!” the man groaned in annoyance clenching his fists. The old man laughed heartedly; his kind smiled cheering up his student in no time. Kai sighed and took a sighting stance once more. Old man walked around carefully studying the posture. “Ho, ho, ho...” he laughed. “STILL WRONG!” the bamboo stick hit Kai’s legs making him fall to the ground. A loud laughter filled the area making two men look in the direction of the laughing source. A strange looking girl stood not far away from their training grounds. Her hands were placed on her hips as she laughed at the two men. Kai looked at the stranger without a particular interest, though she did remind him of someone. Her hair was intense red and pulled back into a pony tail, the eye colour was different, which made him wonder if she wasn’t Japanese, but after a close look he realised that she was. His skin was pale, which gave an impression that she never came out in the sun. Her jeans were black and hugged her legs perfectly while the top looked like a short version of Chinese dress. The girl stopped laughing and grinned. “Hisoka?” the old man called unbelievingly. “GRANDPA!” she yelled running towards him and wrapping her arms around his neck. “Ho, ho, ho...It’s been so long,” he hugged her back happily a tear running down his wrinkled cheek. “What brings you here?” he asked curiously when they finally let go of each other. Hisoka sighed. “Can I stay here for a while?” she asked. “Until I find my own place.” “Did you have an argument with your father again?” he asked suspiciously. Hisoka laughed scratching the back of her head. “Actually,” she started still grinning. “I’ve been disowned.” *** “So that’s what happened.” The old man shook his head; his arms were crossed on his chest. “I always knew your father was extreme, but not to this point.” Hisoka smiled lightly at her grandfather. “It’s okay, grandpa. I’ll be fine.” She smiled once again showing him a peace sign. “Things could always be worse.” “By the way,” the old man started. “This is Kai Suwabara, my former student.” Hisoka gazed at the man and nodded. “Hi, I’m Hisoka Kujo.” The man nodded back feeling uncomfortable. He wasn’t one to be experienced with women, especially women like her. He could tell her aura was the one of a fighter, it wasn’t surprising. Her grandfather used to be a Samurai, but she was woman, then how comes she inherited his strength? “Kai is a little bit slow grandpa,” Hisoka stated furrowing her eyebrows. Kai gulped and clenched his fists. Now he knew where she gets it from. “How can you manage to teach him?” she continued. Kai glared at the girl clearly pissed. If she wasn’t a woman he’d challenge her. “Oh, but he is an extremely fast learner.” The old said patting Kai on the back. Hisoka shrugged eyeing the man with a bandana. Even though part of his face was covered he gave an impression of a very handsome man. Hisoka felt her heart slightly speed up but she quickly brushed it away. She didn’t have time for feelings or love whatsoever. She had a goal and she was going to achieve it. “Grandpa,” she called quietly. “Do you know any circuses or dance clubs around here?” she asked carefully. Her father gave her a long look before replying. “There is one circus, but it is not popular at all...” he said. *She just came here and already wants to have fun.* Kai though feeling disappointed. *Typical, unworthy woman.* “Hisoka, what are you planning to do?” the old man asked, though he already had an idea. The girl smiled winking. “I’m planning to live.”
