You know what the worst part of writing Dragon AU is. The mission aspect of it. Genuinely I'm writing this now bc I'M STUCK ON A MISSION SCENE. It's an important scene so I HAVE to write it and I know how I want it to progress but oh my goddddddd bro I think it's bc I just get stuck in the details. Like the logistics of where they are and where everyone is and esp if I have to focus on the mission itself. Like it's fine if I use it as a backdrop and most of the mission scenes so far have generally been backdrops/brief sequences but this entire scene I'm writing rn is the mission.

Sighs maybe I'm just being dramatic. I won't let this stop me though I'm going to finish this fucking fic. Probably. This is fascinating lwk bc I think Dragon AU is currently my longest fic I've written so far. I just went into my doc to highlight the story so far and it's like 35,000 words across 31 scenes (not counting any past the number jump) 😭😭 compared to my oldest fic which is uh. Laughs. My Fantube but also not Fantube fic from 2017 that is.....12 chapters long with longer chapters overall, but also the longest is just like 3,000~ words long.

More fun statistics; this is probably the fastest I've ever written a fic of this current length. I started innnnn mid-May? So it's nearly been 2 months. 31 chapters is SO QUICK especially considering I've taken some breaks here and there for drawing/vacation. And remember that's not including the jump chapters. Doesn't feel real when I think abt it like that LOL power of hyperfixation I guess

Brief aside I find it really funny that whenever I post a new oneshot I get some ppl like "YOU'RE BACK" but I've been posting like crazy for Dragon AU and only one (1) person reads it (SHOUTOUT TO MY BROTHER IN NEURODIVERGENCY). I don't gaf personally and also I Get It bc OI in general is kinda niche(?) compared to other object shows. Same goes for this artbook bc it's mostly OI + OC focused. Anyway I just wanted to comment on that bc I thought it was interesting

Anyway speaking of dragons I watched the live action HTTYD recently ^_^ I LOVE DRAGONS especially as environmental and/or dehumanization metaphors. Idk if it was obvious but I basically directly reference a HTTYD scene in Dragon AU (First Contact) because I couldn't NOT do it 😭😭😭

I've also recently realized that my VERY FIRST story here. Was also about dragons. It was original fiction and I'm 99% sure I've deleted it and I only got 6 chapters in but it still holds a place in my heart 😭😭😭 Time is a circle. Actually my brother wrote like a remaster + continuation of it back in 2019 (it's 25 chapters and ~80,000 words long I have no idea how he had the motivation to write all that) that I've been meaning to edit and publish LOL maybe one of these days. I think it'd be cool if some of the dragon characters from there made a cameo in Dragon AU I'd just have to figure out how to do it. Wait this is a fucking OI AU WHY AM I PUTTING MY ORIGINAL FICTION CHARACTERS IN IT whatever man. I do what I want.

This also reminds me I saw a Tumblr(?) post once that was like "stop writing dragons in fantasy it's boring" and this was a really long time ago but I was like :/ okay. I think I internalized it to an extent LOL it's not that serious but just something interesting to mention.

Okay anyway super ultra rare OI moment I got someone to watch the show LMAOOOOOO. Essentially what happened is that I shared Dragon AU with them bc it came up and they were curious, and eventually they expressed interest in watching the original 😭😭😭

IT WAS REALLY FUN ^_^ I noticed I was like rocking back and forth in my chair and I was like am I stimming 😭😭😭 what is this. But anyway they liked it they thought it was fun ^_^_^_^ They liked Fire Axe!!!

Some highlights include calling Sandwich 'burger' in episode 1 LMFAO. Orange and Ipad toxic yaoi. Fire Axe volume warning bc he's so damn loud sometimes 😭😭 calling PC and Ph divorced which is SO TRUE. They said they got married in ep8 during the timeskip where Oreo went to get supplies for the challenge and divorced in ep9 😭😭😭 and how PC is like "I still hate you but I GUESS we should work together......baka........."
