Rose was a normal woman, before it happened. Rose met Cave Johnson at a coffee shop in Michigan. Mr. Johnson saw Rose as a heroic person. So he brought her to Aperture Science to persuade Rose into becoming an even more heroic person. So the scientists ran an experiment on Rose. They put her in a machine with two chambers. In the other chamber was a Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device. The scientists turned on the machine and the machine began to shake. A few minutes later, Rose came out with two circles of light on her hands, one blue and one orange. She had been fused with the Portal Device.
