Disclaimer: I don't own Warhammer 40k. My story is mine though. Also picture above is what I believe the Astronomicon looks like. Finally about a certain bold character, he will studder abit for a time and then not at all fot a time. Bear with that. Anyway enjoy the second installment of Emperor's Retribution.

---------------------------------------------------

It all began with one feeling.... Pain. Indescribable. Insurmountable. Every cell of his being burned like an exploding sun. He attempted to scream, yet his body could not yet form sound to make his torture known. His breathing was panicked, and hoarse. He didnt know where he was anymore or when for that matter either. All he knew at this very moment was pain. He struggled in his bonds, attempting to somehow escape from this torture.

"M-My Emperor! Please calm down! You are going to hurt yourself!" said an unknown voice.

Finally, through the calling of his title, the Emperor stopped struggling and fought through the pain. He began to look around the room and realized that he was strapped down to a large operating table with many ivy tubes connected to his person. Upon closer inspection, he recognized them to be the combat stimulants used in the creation of the Space Marine legions.

"My Emperor? Are you alrRr-ight? We administered a variety of narcotics toOo make your return to the living more tranquil..." said another disembodied mechanical voice.

The Emperor nods in understanding, the pain begins to subside, much to his relief. However, the Emperor begins to wonder, who was it that brought him back?...

The Emperor tries to speak, but finds his voice abit strained.

"W-Who has freed me? I was residing in the Warp.... Yet I find myself here, with flesh and blood." The Emperor asked in a raspy tone.

"I go by many names my Emperor. Many earned throughout my service to you.. however you know me best as Constantin Valor, Captain-General of Adeptus Custodes." says the now revealed Captain General.

"Constantin Valor.... Hmm. Ah yes! I remember now, My Companions! It has been too long, old friend... I haven't seen you all since....." the Emperor stopped.

"Since the heresy, my Lord. It has been a long time indeed, almost ten thousand years to be precise.... However, we have more pressing matters to intend too," Valor rushed out before releasing the Emperor from his bonds.

Shocked receiving the news of just how long it really has been, the Emperor begins to question...

"What? What do you mean Constantin? Explain yourself now! Why am I here? Wherever here is...."

The Emperor tries to move off the table, ripping the ivy tubes from his body as he does so. He attempts to stand on his own two feet, however finds out the hard way that he can not, by falling to the floor...

What has happened to my body?! the Emperor thought panicked.

"Forgive my rudeness and brash behavior, my lord. I will let my friend explain the current situation along the way. We must hurry to the throne room with all haste!"

Before the Emperor could protest, Valor wastes no time as he picks up the fallen Emperor and places him on his back, carrying him. They both exit the laboratory chambers with a personal contingent of the Emperor's Companions and another man following directly behind them.

As they exit, the Emperor notices a tall, mechanical man, having numerous servo-arms, and seemingly very ancient pieces of technology attached to his body. While cloaked, the man seemed entirely machine at face value. The Emperor began reminiscing of his old foes the Techno-Barbarians, until he came upon a name he thought he'd long forgot during his time in the warp.
