"Remember, this is a Quidditch game and not Woodstock!" Sirius said firmly to Ayelet, who merely grinned at Hera as her dad pulled her close to his chest for a hug.
"When have I ever given you a reason to worry about me?" Ayelet raised her brow, "I'm your best-behaved kid!"
"Yeah, that's not saying much, " Hera snickered, extending her arm to tickle her daughter's elbow. "How many times were you late to your first lesson this year?"
"In my defence, " Ayelet sighed, "if you had double History of Magic every Friday morning to look forward to, you'd be late too. "
"Try triple potions on a Monday morning and a Friday afternoon, " Hera pointed out, clearly trumping her daughter on this point. "And my Professor was so mean to me. At least Binns' class you can nap in. "
"You sure your being late had nothing to do with it being Friday morning?" Sirius said expectantly, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Depends on if there was anything to celebrate, " Ayelet smiled, "in which case, yeah, that might've contributed to my lateness. "
Hera shook her head, pressing her lips together to conceal her amusement. "Go have fun, sweet girl. "
She then turned to Leonora beside her, who was flicking her younger brother's forehead with her fingertips and giggling as he tried and failed to do the same back at her.
"You might get more detentions than Lettie, but I know that's only 'cause you get caught more. " Hera winked, wrapping her arm around Leonora's shoulder.
