Down Spiral- A Jori story.

Chapter 21

-Tori~

"You have to tell her!" Beck yells at me. I told him about Jade asking for him. All he did was blow up. His usual calm voice laced with annoyance.
"I can't Beck! You know I can't! She'll freak out and then I won't have her any more! Beck, just help me this once and I won't ask for anything ever agian." Desperation started seeping into my voice. Knowing Beck, he'll agree to what I asked.

"Beck." I say, "She wants to see you."
"Why me?" He asks. I drop my head fighting back tears. "Tori?" He places his hand on my shoulder. I shake my head and back up. He lets his hand drop to his side as he cocks his head to the side in a questioning manner.
"She forgot who I am." I say, feeling a single tear slide down my face.
"What?" He asks. I shake my head as a sob rips through me. He hugs me as I clench onto his shirt. This is the second time in four days I've been in this position with someone. The first being Jade and and now Beck. The former now being the reason I cried both times about.
Beck rubs my back attempting to comfort me. We stay like that for a few minutes. I sniffle asy tears stop. He breaks the silence when he asks me a question. "Agian, why me?" I get out of our friendly embrace and back up. "She doesn't remember me. But she remembers you," He raises eyebrows in question,"and, your 'relationship', she still thinks you two are together."
"Oh." Is all he says and I nod. "Yeah. 'Oh'." I say as he looks around.
"Beck, can you do me a favor?" I ask.
"Yeah anything Tori, what is it?"
"Let her down easy?" Its a simple quesestion, I guess he understands because what he says next isn't 'okay' It's far from actually. "No. I'm not. You are though."
"What? I can't! She'll kill me!"
"You have to tell her!"

I look at him pleading that he'll cave. "Please Beck."
"Tori, how about we tell her together." He asks putting his hand on my shoulder. I shake my head. Because I know if I see her I'll break down.
"Tori. I'll do all the talking. You just have to be there."
"If I say yes will you take me back home?"
"NOW YOU WANNA GO HOME!?"
"Yup." I say popping the 'p'.
He cracks a small smile and says, "Fine Tori. Yes. I'll take you home after." I nod and lead him out of the waiting room And down the hall to her room.
On the way there is very little talk. When we get to the door I hesitate to open it,, knowing that the girl I love is in the room, and that she doesn't remember anything about. Also knowing that almost a year was lost.
Beck puts his hand on my shoulder and I put my hand on the doorknob. I push it down and open the door.
Jade is sitting up on the bed, watching a horror movie on the small flat screen in front of the bed. 'Well that part about her didn't change.' I smile internally to myself.
I stand awkwardly in the door while Beck sits in the seat beside Jade, giving her a small friendly hug.
"Hey, Jade." He says. She looks at him and gives a small smile. A pang of jealousy hits me as I fake a smile and lean against the frame. She looks at me and I her, her eyebrows raise in a question. I shrug and she nods. I keep my face void of emotion.
It stays quiet for a few minutes before I break the silence, "How you feeling Jade?" I ask. She looks at me, well, glares, and looks back to the screen. And she hates me again. Great.
Becks eyes widen a little before they go back to normal. I just stay there fighting myself from going over and kissing her. But the thought of her not remembering me keeps me from it.
"Jade. She asked a question." Jade sighs and looks at me she says, "I feel like Shit. That answer your question," she stops and trys to remember my name,

"Tori." I say.

She glares at me and I nod and stay where I was. She watches the screen as the murder kills their next victim. She laughs. I smile a little when she does, at least she still laughs at gory scenes.
"Um. Jade," Beck says a little uncomfortable, here me go. Jade looks at Beck when he says her name. "What?"
"There's something both of us need to talk about. We... well... um... how should I put this? We're not... really... together any more." It comes out more as a question."
"What?" She asks.
Beck just looks at me. I shake my head. I know if I get into it she'll kill me. He shakes his head as looks back to Jade.
"Jade. We broke up about a year ago."
Before she could say anything the doctor walks in, silencing her.
"Ah, Ms. West, we have multiple things to discuss with you and your guests." The doctor turned to me and then to Beck.
"Well as you guys have seen, she's suffering from a mild case of amnesia. Are you two familiar with amnesia?" Beck and. Shake our heads yes.
I speak up, "isn't amnesia where the patient loses part of their memory?" I ask. Jade scoffs and says, "Of course Vega is the one to ask an obvious question."
"Be quie- wait? What'd you say?" She called me by my last name. I haven't told her my last name yet.
She rolls her eyes and repeats what she said. "I said, "of course Vega is the one to ask an obvious question.' Did I studder the first time, Vega?"
"No. But, how do you remember my last name?" "What do you mean how do I remember? I'm not stupid. We didn't just meet yesterday." I nod and stay quiet.
She looks to Beck and asks, "why is Vega here, anyway?"
He just shrugs and I look at her. She looks back to me and raises her eye brows in question agian. I smile a small smile as she smirks.
