I sat quietly on a stack of hay watching my friends flirt with all the guys at the barn dance. It just wasn't my thing. One of my friends named Jess tried to drag me out to Meet this one guy named Dean, but I refused. I tried to explain that barn dances weren't my thing, I mean they drug me too the dance, thats far enough. About 2 hours later of watching my girls dance and drink I told them that I was going home with or without them. So they got in my old rusted yellow Volkswagen, and I drove them home. While I was on my way back to my grandma and grandpas house I was thinking. "I wonder what it would be like to have someone to call mine?" I imagined a tall broad brown haired man with a good head on his shoulders. But then the thought of college came into my head, which was more important. I pulled into the dusty red dirt driveway and saw my grandma and grandpa sitting up late on there rocking chairs on there old creaking wrap around porch, grandpa sipping a hot mug of coffee and grandma a red rose tea. I told them that I loved them and that I was gonna hit the hay for the night. Grandmas soft wrinkled hands brushed against my cheek as she told me that she loved me too. Well I guess i forgot to introduce myself. My name is Katy Daniels, and I have lived with my grandparents ever since I can remember on the outskirts of town in Jackson, Wyoming.
