The rooster crowed. First I opened one of my eyes, and I saw the beautiful Jackson sunrise built of colours oranges and pinks and reds and little flexes of purple. As i opened my other eye i looked at my alarm clock and saw that it was already 8:00 AM! I jumped out of bed and smelled the original smell of grandpas fresh brewed black coffee. I quickly got on my old faded , ripped blue jeans and a t-shirt. As I walked down the old oak stairs i came across my grandma and Grandpa drinking the usual blackest of black coffee and red rose tea at the small kitchen table. Grandma was cooking sunny side up eggs and home cut hash browns, with of coarse fresh squeezed orange juice in a crystal pitcher. Grandma asked how my sleep was, then of coarse grandpa Jim pops in a joke "were ya up kissin hicks last night?!" Of coarse not!, I Exclaimed, I was up real late last night writing in my journal. Grandpa, I said, when was your first kiss?, how old were you? Grampa replied " i was 17, it was the night of the homecoming dance, I saw your grandma Ellie's bright blue eyes twinkling from across the room. It was like everything went silent and blurry and all I could see or hear was your grandmother. Then suddenly she looked across at me and smiled then winked at me." What did you do? I asked. "Well, I walked over to her, shaking an feeling like i was gonna puke, I knew this was true love". Then she came right up to me and said "well hello there Mr. Jim Daniels!" I replied "hello there Ms. Elliot Jenkins"! After that the night went on". " when i took her home we both said a vow that said "i cross my heart" and that is how are love began." Four simple words".That is lovely grandpa! I said. Grandpa asked me if i have had a true love, I replied no. Although sometimes there is a part of me that wants a true love an someone to hold me. My phone rang. I answered and it was Jess. "Hey girl! She said, so there is another barn dance tomorrow ... Do u wanna come"? I immediately said no. But it's not just any barn dance, she replied. its a rodeo first". I have been to a rodeo many times and enjoyed them. I told her that i would be at the house at two, and if they weren't waiting outside i would go alone! She told me she would be ready.
