fourteen : chocolate cake

josh takes tyler's hand cautiously, "if this makes you uncomfortable, just let go," josh tells tyler. tyler's grip only gets stronger.

he leads tyler up the footpath and into a cafe called 'piece of cake' honestly, it wasn't really josh's scene but he had taken his little sister here once before and it reminded him of tyler.

tyler gasps when they step inside the tiny building, the walls are painted a gorgeous baby blue colour and the tables are a glossy yellow. josh grins at tyler's reaction, "its so cute," tyler breathes.

josh chuckles deeply, "i thought you might like it." tyler looks up at him and beams, his hazel eyes twinkling. josh leads tyler towards the drinks menu, tyler looks up innocently and asks for a hot chocolate.

"of course, babyboy," josh smiles down at the shorter boy, tyler's cheeks flush red at the nickname. tyler let's go of josh's hand to go and look at the glass counter containing slices of cake, fudge and other sweet treats.

"anything you like, ty?" josh asks, stepping next to the boy.
tyler ponders for a second, "uh, can we get some chocolate cake? its my favourite" tyler asks quietly.

josh nods and quietly tells tyler to find a seat whilst he orders. josh orders and walks back to tyler with a white plate of chocolate cake in his hand. he carefully places it infront of tyler before sitting down.

"thank you," tyler smiles, josh smiles back at him before speaking "anything for you, ty." the cafe is empty asides from them and an old woman with a young girl who's presumably her granddaughter.

a few minutes later, the waitress brings the two boys their drinks. tyler shakily thanks the girl, tapping his fingers along to every word she speaks.

the two chat quietly for ten minutes whilst sipping on their drinks before tyler gets a texts. he excuses himself from the conversation for a moment.

tyler😇: HES TAKEN ME TO THIS ADORABLE CAFE AND BOUGHT ME CAKE HE CALLED ME BABYBOY I GTG BYE!!!! LOVE U JEN.

he quickly sends the text and switches off his phone before looking back up to josh, he apologises and they continue talking.

tyler finishes his hot chocolate and moves onto picking at the delicious cake with his fork. "d'you want some, josh?" he offers, josh smiles and shakes his head "no thanks sweetheart, its yours."

tyler picks up a forkful of the cake and carefully dips it into the tiny bowl of whipped cream before placing it in his mouth.
josh starts to giggle quietly and tyler puts the fork back down at looks at him, confused.

"let me get that for you, princess," josh chuckles before reaching over and swiping his thumb across tyler's bottom lip. 
he grabs a napkin and wipes off the whipped cream before chuckling.

tyler blushes, "thanks" he mumbles embarrassingly.
