The week flew by with the occasional death glares between Dinah and Harper. It was now Monday morning, Ally and Normani waited while Dian talk on the phone with Lauren.
"Today's the day!" Said Dinah. "I'm so excited!"
"I bet you are." Lauren laughed. "Text me throughout the day."
D: I will, you sure you don't wanna come?
L: Dinah you know I would, but I can't. She doesn't know me.
D: I guess.
L: Hey she will soon enough I just gotta give her time.
D: Yeah, yeah. Lauren the wise one over here.
L: Awh, why thank you.
D: Sarcasm.
L: Really? I didn't know.
D: You're such a smart ass.
L: Okay well I have to go u just got to school, you better text me.
D: I will mom. Bye
L: Bye.
Dinah hung up the phone and turned to Ally and Normani sitting on her bed.
"How's she doing?" Asked Ally.
"She's a smart ass." Dinah laughed. "Make sure you're texting her as well." She looked between the two girls.
"Got it." Normani nodded.
"Well." Dinah sighed. "Let's go get Mila."
As the girls made their way to the hospital they talked about their plans for the afternoon, which consisted of snacks and movies. Soon they were in the lobby waiting for Camila to be checked out.
"I gotta tell you guys." Dinah spoke up. "I'm a bit nervous."
"Same." Normani agreed.
"Yeah, we'll get through this together and take it one step at a time." Said Ally. "Deal?" The two girls nodded.
"Deal."
The three girls took seats as they waited for Camila. They watched as people checked out, went to the pharmacy and came in to be helped. An hour had passed until they heard Sinu's voice come from behind them.
"Thank you sir I will give you a call if anything comes up." They turned around to see Camila walking towards them.
"Mila!" Ally ran up and embraced the brunette in a tight squeeze.
"Hey guys." Camila smiled as Ally backed away.
"Hey Chanch." Said Dinah as she punched Camila's arm making her wince.
"What was that for!"
"For scaring the shit outta me." Dinah smiled. "I'm glad you're okay." She pulled Camila into a hug.
"Well my arm is gonna bruise but thanks, I guess."
The girls had a quick conversation about nothing until it was time for Sinu and Camila to leave.
"We'll meet you girls at home, okay?" Sinu turned to walk.
"Alright we're gonna go grab stuff for movie night, so it'll give you some time to settle in." Said Dinah, Camila nodded.
"Sounds good, see you all later." She waved before catching up to her mother.
The ride home was quite Camila hadn't wanted the radio on, it was often too loud even on lower volumes. She gazed out the window and rested her head on her hand. She watched as the buildings and cars went by, it was hard to keep focus with so much going on. Camila didn't notice the car come to a stop until Sinu rested her hand on her knee.
"Mija we're home." They got out and made their way inside. Camila looked around, taking in her surroundings.
"Your dad is at work and Sofia is at school, are you hungry?" Sinu offered.
"Yeah a little." Said Camila.
"Alright I'll make something, you go get yourself settled it." She motioned towards the stairs, hoping her slighter hadn't forgotten the way.
Camila made her way to her room, as she walked in nothing seemed to be familiar. The pictures on the wall had no meaning they were just that, a picture without a memory. There were a select few in which she remembered, but most were a blank in her mind. She came to one with her and another girl, she couldn't help but notice her broad smile. Next to the frame was a baseball Camila grabbed it and saw the writing.
"Lern Jergi?" She furrowed her eyes brows in confusion.
Camila tried desperately to remember who this girl was, only coming up with nothing. Not wanting to overwhelm herself, she decided on taking a shower before the girls showed up.
It seemed like the longest shower Camila had taken. Her left arm had no coordination, so washing her hair was a challenge. The wounds on her rib cage were still very sensitive so no pressure could be put there. Drying herself off was worse. As she ran the towel through her hair and over her skin she caught her first glimpse of her reflection. The scars left upon her skin were so defined as well as the bruises. The scar Camila could not take her eyes off of was the one above her left eyebrow.
Her heart dropped at the sight of herself. How could this be her? Why? The only thing Camila knew was that she was in a car accident. No one had given her details, she hadn't known when she was in the wreck or how. All she can remember is waking up in the hospital. Words popped in and out of her head as she looked herself over, ugly, disgusting, monster, hideous. She felt a warm tear trail down her cheek.
"Mija are you okay?" Sinu knocked at the door, Camila sniffed and covered herself with a towel.
"Yeah mom I'll be out in a minute." She slipped her clothes on and opened the door.
"Better?"
Camila smiled slightly and swallowed. "Yes."
