Chapter 24

I wake up excited to get my day on but then realize I have to stay in bed

The doctor said I had to stay in bed for a few days, today is my last day home before I can go back to school

I tiptoe out of bed hoping no one will hear me and walk down the stairs

I walk into the kitchen and started making eggs with bacon, just as I place the bacon on the pan I hear someone walk in

"Honey what did I tell you you have to stay in bed" said my mom with her hand on her hip

"But it's so boring" I whined plus I was also hungry

"Go back to bed, I will finish your breakfast" she said and I didn't even try to argue knowing it would just make things worse

"Okay mom" I said walking back into my room

"I dive into the future

I listened to revival by Selena Gomez, feeling tired and slowly fall asleep before hearing a knock on my door

"Come in" I said weakly it was probably my mom with breakfast

When the door opened I saw Alec and he was holding a breakfast tray with my eggs, bacon and an orange juice

"What the Shi--" I began to say but then saw my sister eve right behind him

"Shiitake mushrooms" I finished

"you almost said a bad word" said eve smiling brightly

"And you should be at school" I said

"Mommy's bringing me" she said before I heard my mothers voice

"Eve hurry were going to be late"

"Bye" said eve before skipping out of the room

"Bye have a good day" I said

"So what brings you here" I said to Alec

"Well I knew you are bedridden so I thought I'll help out" he said setting the tray next to me

"Mm scrabbled eggs" I said stuffing my mouth

"Hungry" he said teasingly but I just ignore him and continued shovelling food into my mouth

I finished pretty quick, wow was I starving

" so what do you wanna do" I asked

"Well I actually need to talk to you" he said

"Okay what is it about" I asked

"It's about the girl I told you about the other day" he said

"Oh ya" I said trying to hide my disappointment

"I decide to go for it" he said

"Oh that's great" I said forcing my smile

He reached behind his back taking a bouquet of roses out from behind his back

"Chloe will you make me the happiest person alive and be my girlfriend" he asked going onto one knee

I was shocked to say the least

"Chloe" he said waiting for an answer

"Yes" I screamed and he leaned in and was about to kiss me when

"Chloe" yelled my mom shaking me awake

"Huh" I said disoriented

"You feel asleep when I was making your breakfast, you look really tired are you feeling well" she asked putting her hand up to my head checking I had a fever

"Yeah I'm fine mom" I said disappointed realizing I had just been dreaming and Alec never really asked me out

"Okay eat your breakfast and then get some rest" she said placing the tray full of eggs and bacon with an orange juice on the side

"Will do thanks mom" I said

"No problem I'll see you later I'll try to finish work early " she said giving me a kiss on the cheek before heading to the door

"It's fine mom don't worry about me" I said giving her a small smile

"Okay bye" she said blowing me another kiss before heading out the door

"Bye " I muttered before lying back down

~Next day~

"Chloe your back" screamed Sarah running up to me and giving me a huge hug

"Shh, remember undercover" I said jokingly

"Yeah yeah whatever how are you" she asked letting me go giving me a one over trying to see if there's anything wrong with me

"I'm good" I said truthfully

"Great so you can help out with the carnival" she said as we walked down the hallways

"Carnival what carnival" I asked

"Well the school is doing a fundraiser to raise money for the sports program and I'm helping to organize it, I need to find people to take care of booths" she said

"Okay and I'm guessing you need me to do a booth" I said

" yes you have a choice kissing booth, cotton candy or bouncy house" she asked

"Definitely cotton candy" I said
Kissing random people is disguising and little kids who will mostly likely throw up in the bouncy house are also disgusting so the best option is cotton candy

"Perfect, Ashley's doing the popcorn stand which is right next to yours and by the way the carnival is in 2 weeks " she said

"Speaking of Ashley where is she didn't catch a ride with me this morning" I asked

"She had to help her teacher with something" she said

"Okay I'm going to head of to class I'll see you later" I said

"okay see you later" she said before heading of into another direction

"Hey Chloe" says Alec has he passes by me giving me his signature smirk which has me literally turning into a pile of mush

"Hey" I manage to say back

This is going to be a long day
